So aparently 19 pages passed since I been gone. So here are my thoughts about the first two episodes.
1st episode - Not gonna lie, kind of boring and disappointing. The highlight of the episode was what's her name from Glee Project performing the Anything Goes/Anything You Can Do mashup(despite the really bad looking fake ta dancing from her). Blaine singing It's Not Unusual was also one of the better things of the episode, and I'm no Blaine fanboy. I adore Vanessa Lengies and I liked Sunshine; and while she had a horrible audition, it was Mr. Schue's job to train her, so chalk this up in the column of failure as a teacher with the other notches. I feel like not much story was told other than Rachel and Kurt, which is really old.
Biggest disappointment was their cover of You Can't Stop the Beat; I've discovered it's because it was deathly boring. And then in the fully recorded audio, Kurt in Penny's part and Artie in Seaweed's just aggravated me, plus Mercedes jsut phoned it in, but not even in a fun way to wanna relisten to it. I think the lack of Puck, Quinn, and Santanna really showed how weak the rest of the club were in the song.
2nd episode - After the first episodes mostly disappointing covers I looked online to see which songs were in this one, and was happy to read ahead. Better covers this time around, Blaine is getting better at acting out his singing face, Shelby's return felt really natural and honestly interests me most about this season already. Did anyone else feel Mr Schue channeled Pedobear in his dance practice scene with Finn? While Kurt still annoys me, I actually did like his dilemma this episode, even if I hated his Shakespeare audition. Brittany still makes me smile, and not gonna lie, I'm robably going to use the unicorn reference for a while; I also hope she wins the election. I'm still a bit confused why the school play has to be co-directed; Is there no drama teacher at all? My high school had 4 of them, with one of them doubling as a chorus teacher(are there any of those in Glee either?) I mean I get they need show drama and all that, but seriously, for a show that caters a lot to the music theater crowd, where's the drama department? Sorry, rant over. Kurt's reaction at the end of the episode made no sense to me after the scenes beforehand where he accepts he's a Unicorn and is happy with it. I can understand being a bit disappointed, and it is in Kurt's character to overreact to everything, but come on, hasn't he done enough of it in the episode where he doesn't need to show as much jealousy to Blaine as he did?
Next week looks liek another blah episode. Mercedes is starting to annoy me too. It's most likely the writing, but I am sick and tired of how lazy her character is as a person.
Phew, didn't think I'd remember all that.
EDIT: Also, I don't read the majority if any of the spoilers of upcoming episodes any more than the songs being covered. I'm not saying hold those back, but if I seem confused as to what some of you refer to, that's the reason.
