Glee Episode V: The Sylvester Strikes Back

Just watched Showmance (second episode of Season 1) on DVD.

It's really funny to go back to when Ken Tanaka was football coach, Terri really was a series regular, Wemma and Finchel were fledgling, and Kurt was a background character who had like a couple snarky one-liners per episode.

Oh, and the whole Finn/Rachel/Quinn situation right now is exactly where it was in Showmance, right down to Quinn's prom queen fixation. Kind of regressive, especially on Finn and Quinn's parts, especially considering Puck, Kurt, and Rachel have all grown as human beings from S1 to S2.

Finn and Quinn are useless now. The show would be better off without them. :o

It's like Murphy is having a do-over with the storylines from season 1. He wasn't satisfied with the way Mercedes' diva storyline ended, so he addressed it again. He wasn't satisfied with the Finn/Quinn/Rachel triangle, so he's doing it all over again.

So stay tuned for season 3, when Kurt will finally get his first boyfriend!

And for Santana to come to terms with her sexuality

Actually I think he's just running out of fresh ideas. S2 is definitely a lot more haphazard than S1. Another notable thing about the early S1 episodes is how much more comparatively subdued Sue is. Sure she's over-the-top, but she's not the cartoon villain she is now.

The show REALLY needs an overhaul if they want to survive past next season.

Wemma and Finchel are so cute in the early episodes too....you root for them to get together. By now they've gotten together and broken up for stupid reasons so many times and all made so many bad decisions that half the audience either couldn't care less anymore or actively dislikes the pairings.

And Sue has lost her zing.

I think that would mean the writers acknowledging that they've made mistakes (aka Not going to happen). :csad:

I think they need to be let go and new writers need to be brought on board. The show is in desperate need of a revamp.

Everybody here should also visit the Pro Wrestling thread. We're always saying the same thing over there.

Therefore, the solution is simple: Glee and the WWE should just switch creative teams. I think both shows will go off in bold new adventures that way. :)

I just don't think Glee will last in its current state.

I kinda like Jenna's I Follow Rivers better than the original... which takes me from being fairly annoyed at the fact that they cut her off 15 seconds in to being pretty damn pissed. :cmad:

Never heard the original.

Like, seriously, they couldn't have just had someone like Lauren or Sam go out there and get cut off mid-song on some meaningless number than nobody cared about. No. They had to find the most underutilized character in the series and interrupt them in their moment of glory.

**** you, Ryan Murphy. :o

He's an ass, and we all know it. :/

I think Tina has officially become the "other Asian" now, compared to Mike.

No, Finn sure, but not Quinn.

Murphy might be able to freshen up John Cena, the first move? make The Pink Dagger his manager! :woot:

I wouldn't want any of the current regulars to leave, not even the ones I hate. Plus if Finn was gone we'd lose one of the best actors on the show. The writers just need to give him, Quinn and Rachel storylines that don't revolve around each other.

I find it ridiculous that the creator of Nip/Tuck finds it impossible to come up with more than 2 storylines for over a dozen characters now that he's restricted to a TV-14 rating.
