Poor guy doesn't even have a tounge
Look at the inside of his mouth. It looks like his teeth have shredded his mouth. Everything about this design makes it seem like this Godzilla would be in constant excruciating pain. No wonder he is so pissed off.
It's an out of control locomotive

The Tiny arms are so freaking weird...it throws me off so much.
people said the same thing about LegenGoji's feet....
we'll get used to it
That's the point. That design really is just killing any anticipation I have for this film. It's so damn ugly and unpleasant to look at.
That's the point.
Is it, really, though? The original Godzilla film at it's core was a a metaphor for the Nuclear holocaust. The director himself intended Godzilla to be the physical manifestation of the atom bomb and it's horrible effects. This Godzilla is going back to the original concept, before the cheesy Showa era, before the action-movie caliber Heisei & Millennium periods. (Although GMK's Godzilla was true to '54 in spirit); They're trying to bring Godzilla back to the original message of the first film. So? That doesn't mean I have to like it. They could make him pink and cute and say the point is he's supposed to look like that to come off as friendly. It doesn't mean it wouldn't be stupid as hell.

And they were able to do that with the first film without him looking ugly as sin in an over-the-top try-hard manner.
technology wasn't as advanced as it was back in the 50s
I think Ishiro Honda would enjoy this design
Technology wasn't as advanced to make him look ugly?.... What?
WHat Im saying is that Ishiro didn't have the tech to make a truly grotesque scar ridden monster. Which is what Shin Goji is.
Well, Godzilla's skin is suppose to be made up of entirely of Keloid skars & burns in the original film. And btw, have you seen some of the concept art for the first film what with the mushroom cloud head? Ishiro would probably been very happy with this design considering what it's representing. You're just claiming this is what ishiro Honda would've done with no evidence to back that up. Don't try to make an excuse to dismiss my criticism.

And the suit was indeed extremely limited in 54' due to technological restraints.
He's not supposed to look gorgeous he's supposed to be a hideous terrifying monster.
When did anybody say he's supposed to look gorgeous?
