Sci-Fi Godzilla Minus One

That's the thumbnail for tomorrow's trailer. Glad to see Godzilla stomping people again.

We've never really had a period piece Goji film, so I'm excited too see how this plays out. And having a smaller Goji makes sense, because Tokyo isn't the sprawling Urban Jungle it would become decades later yet.

Really curious to see how things play out

Oh yes, this is definitely the movie Godzilla 2014 initially advertised itself as. Definitely looks like it'll be up there with Gojira as the darkest installment of this franchise. Most hyped movie for the rest of the year for me.

The line "That monster... will never forgive us," gives me chills.

That's exactly how I feel. And I love it!

I'm usually not really into big Kaiju extravaganzas. But when the trailer for Godzilla 2014 was released, it looked like the project that would recapture the kind of belly-bursting fear that certain movies gave me when I was very young. Whether it involved aliens, giant squids or whatever, it was that very specific feeling of being confronted with something larger-than-life, unstoppable, out-there.

Ultimately, Edwards' movie was a letdown for me. But that new adaptation could be the one to finally scratch that itch. It has that desperate, funereal atmosphere I'm looking for. The period piece aspect is the icing on the cake. It just looks very good.

Oh, and I hope the music is a snippet from the soundtrack, because that set a perfect tone.

The shots of this Godzilla's atomic breaths evolving into full on nukes is fantastic as well. The haunting imagery and atmosphere so far is just *chef's kiss*

On another note, I might actually put together a full-on Godzilla/Oppenheimer fan-edit down the line...

Man, this looks...kinda terrifying, digging the vibes tbh.

Wow this looks incredible and is definitely the type of Godzilla film I wish we would have got back in 2014. I really love how much this feels like the 54 movie with the sense of dread and atmosphere.

I also love that they aren't going to be shying away from the mass casualties caused by BIG G in this which should be super refreshing IMO because it adds such a sense of realism that we haven't seen in these movies in forever.

Just like Dune: Part II this is for sure a must see on the biggest/loudest screen possible. Also just based on the little we've seen so far I could definitely see this new Zilla design being my all-time favorite.

Hopefully, this gets a wide release here in the states.

Oh wow, I didn't know Minus One would be out this year! Hopefully theaters in the States get it this December!
Its US release date is slated to be December 1st, one month after the Japanese premier.

I'm still hoping against hope that Minus One gets a release here in Europe. :crybaby:

Needed a better director for that. With that in mind, everyone go see Creator this month! :o

Dear Lawd this looks ****ing fantastic. Can't remember the last time a trailer got my pulse going like that...

I might even add this to my list of theatrical viewings for the rest of the year...

Can't wait

God I hope so. :fingerscrossed:

Shin Godzilla did $75 million in the Japanese market. There is absolutely no way Toho can make a profit with just the Japanese box office. Frankly, that budget is insane to me, not even just for a Godzilla film. That is Hollywood type budget. They are going to need a wide international release.

Wow that budget sounds insane. I hope the film will do well.

It's still the only Godzilla project I'm really jazzed about right now.
