Hopefully; but don't hold your breath. Thor 2 and IM3 continued (and maybe still continue....?) to add new cast members well into principal shooting.

I *do* think the Star-Lord casting will resolve itself soon, with all the rumors swirling around the role and the "herd" of job applicants quickly thinning out as other projects come available.

Surely SOME characters must've been casted by now, and it just hasn't been announced, right?

Those were minor characters though, the main cast for GotG will be announced months before filming.

As you say, with all the rumours for Star Lord recently I think we'll know who they picked pretty soon, maybe in the next few weeks.

Just announced that either Jason Statham or Michael Rooker will be playing Rocky & I'll be good.

I really want to know who will be auditioning for the sole female character, Gamora.

Maybe Gina Carano or Michelle Rodriguez???

They need a butch woman to play Gamora.

Personally, I think Carano and Rodriguez can play any tough female roles.

Hopefully the fact they are shooting in the UK means Andrea Riseborough might get a
shot at Gamora.

Riseborough got nominated Rising Stars at the Bafta awards as well this week.

Disney just made the totally unexpected announcement that GOTG will be in 3D t: More interestingly, they included a brief synopsis, logline.

Releases on 8/1/14. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, based on the Marvel comic books of the same name, features an unlikely cast of characters who must team up in order to defeat a cosmic force of epic proportions. James Gunn will direct.

I already asked this question in the comics section, but I'll address it to anyone who is a reader and is caught up with Marvel Now: Did Star-Lord and Nova and Thanos die in the Cancerverse? Did they survive and escape? If so, how did this happen? Are there any recent books that explain what happened? Thanks in advance.

Wright seems to be the only other one really active on twitter... unless it's Fox Marvel, so it could be Mangold or Singer.

It's Ant-Man. He said to take Gunn's followers and multiply them by 5. Gunn has 60,000 followers, Edgar Wright has 300,000.

I'm very excited about this film.

This will be the very first Marvel Superhero movie to take place entirely in Space. Am I right to say this??

Maybe the first ten minutes about Star Lord's origins will take place on Earth....but once the story kicks off.........I believe the rest of the movie will occur in the galaxy which is something that has never been done before in a Marvel movie??

Yeah, but those are for minor characters & what not. I assume we'll hear about the team & hopefully the villain very soon.
