Awesome that Gunn is coming back, hope the movie does well enough at the BO for a sequel to be made.

There are so many things they could introduce in the sequel, Nova (Richard Rider, maybe even as Nova Prime?) and Adam Warlock immediatly spring to mind.

I think it would have to do TIH like numbers to stop a sequel, and that isn't going to happen. Feige seems very happy with the work and the critical reaction so far has been great. At the worse, this does TFA numbers and it is seen as something to build on for the sequel.

You are most likely right, but I dont want to count my chickens just yet.

Probably a silly question, but I take it Marvel doesnt have the rights to Super-Skrull?

I totally get showing caution. In the end you never know, but I have a very good feeling about this and logic seems to dictate that it isn't misplaced.

And yes you are right, Marvel does not have the rights to Super Skrull. Fox does.

I AM GROOT.:oldrazz:
:funny:

Do they have the right' to just Kl'irt or the entire Super Skrull concept?

I think Marvel has the rights of Skrulls, but not Super Skrull. At least they can do the Kree vs. Skrull War, which can lead up to Mar-Vell and then later Ms. Marvel.

Yeah, the Skrull thing was confirmed by Joss during the production of the first Avengers film.

Saw it last night and oh man was it great. Definitely one of the best MS movie out there. It was funny as hell but unlike TDW, the humor was well balanced. For me, Drax was the stand out one among the five. I was a bit worried when Dave was casted but he blew me away. And even with his limited screen time, Yondu has properly the most badass scene in the film.

The only downside was the villains. Ronan was better than Malekith but I expected more from him and I want more Nebula.

Still, an amazing film. 9/10

Sequel confirmed? Excuse me, I'll be running up and down the street flailing from pure joy.

I think Warlock is 110% going to be in the movie; I really doubt the cocoon at the end of TDW was just there for show. I'm hoping Nova gets his own movie & then joins the Guardians. I also think Mantis will become a member, as well as Cosmo getting a bigger role.

I still need to see the first one. What a huge tease.

Even if they can't use the Super Skrull concept they can still use the Skrull gods.

How can this be? Feige mistreats and abuses his underlings! You know it is true because I heard it on the internet.

And Disney haaaaated how GoTG turned out and that's why they kicked Wright off of Ant-Man because they hate weird movies now!!11!!! And tehy hate Feige now t0o!!!!11!

(...yes some people were actually saying stuff like this after Wright left)

The humor in Guardians completely trumps any Marvel film yet, at least for me. There were several times when I was crying from laughing so hard. I really found it to be spot on for this movie. The action is pretty solid too, every character gets their moment to shine in a good fisticuffs scene. Everything was so well balanced.
That's what I'd like to hear!:yay::up:
This is good to hear. Did any action scenes have their momentum derailed by unnecessary humor? That's what irritated me about Thor 2.
Same here, was concerned about this too.
I for one am glad that Marvel isn't shying away from superhero movies with comedy even as some of the CB fan base wanted nothing but seriousness and gritty realism in their movies.
It's not so much as "seriousness and gritty realism", it's just that we want a little less Iron Man 3 and a little more Avengers.

Agreed. The problem with both IM 3 and TDW wasn't that there was comedy, it's that the comedy A) wasn't particularly funny a lot of the time, and B) didn't fit with the situations a lot of time. It was jarring. If they can get the balance right, like in IM 1, or TA, or TWS, then comedy is fine.

Well I've been drinking since 6pm and my buddies 18 year old girlfriend said it all. I asked if they want to go to the Thurs premier and she said, and I quote "Is that the one with raccoon and the tree?! Me and all my friends love that movie!" I know it's not a statistical analysis but I'd say the GA is excited

Most movie-savy folk have caught wind of this by now. Half the people at the 17 minute screening I went to had never even heard of the characters before but had heard good things about the film and wanted to see what marvel/Disney was gonna do next.

I wonder if Groot could be the generations Chewie?

?
Since they shown the Celestial Head Does that mean they are Eternals onTitan/Earth and maybe a lead into Thor #300 movie.
