Never been much of a fan of this dude but whatevs. I really don't see how anyone could possibly think he's a good fit for Thanos, though.

Regardless of who he's playing I'm loving the way Marvel/Gunn are casting this. Saying they're being unique in terms of casting would be an understatement.

This cast is mind boggling.

He has the voice and a completely menacing presence when he plays villainous roles. The guys a terrific actor and very well respected. I think he'd be a terrific Thanos but i doubt thats the role he's playing

Maybe. I admit I don't know him that well apart from The Usual Suspects and Snatch.

hehe mostly it was his voice but I looked up some interviews and it's deeper than I thought. Still kind of having a hard time visualizing it but time will tell.

They didn't describe his role. They just said he had a lead role in the film and was signed for multiple films. That could definitely be Thanos.

Considering they didn't say exactly what his role is, he could easily be a hero character that Marvel may want to pursue down the road. Thanos is the easy pick since he's already been on screen but I'm leaning now towards others.

I will only accept him if he does all his voice work like Fenster in The Usual Suspects.

I keep imagining Rocket or Thanos as Puerto Rican and I absolutely love it, LOL! Especially after all my raging at STiD's racefail...

Sounds pretty "anti-climactic" to be the big bad, but maybe that's just because they don't want anyone to know.

Del Toro for Thanos (if that's the case) is awesome. Like 2 years ago I actually picked him for my choice for Darkseid, kinda funny to me now.

Okay, he could also easily be Thanos. It can go both ways, it's not tilting in one's favor. They didn't describe anything there is what I'm saying. All they said is it's a lead role in the film and it's set up for a character to be featured in multiple films. This would perfectly describe Thanos as much as anything else.

As for it not being described as a "villain role", who said Thanos would be a villain in this? We know he's not the main villain already and I've always thought that if Thanos were to be a major part of this movie it would be as a trojan horse who works with the Guardians or at least doesn't hinder them for the time being for his own personal gain, like he did in the Magus arc in the comics.

Anyway, I think he could also be the Collector, which people haven't brought up. I'm hoping he's Thanos though.

What if he is playing Ronan the Accuser? The way they described his role doesn't really sound like Thanos IMO.
