Garfield playing The Doctor is the greatest casting known to man. As a lover of the book, I don't think GTD could cater this movie to me any more than he already has.

I don't think he'll be Pretorius because he only appears in Bride of Frankenstein which is Universal. If GDT is adapting what's in the book (they bought the rights to the Bernie Wrightson illustrated version), I'm assuming he'll be Dr. Waldman. Or maybe Captain Walton or an original character.

I still think Oscar Isaac is playing Dr. Frankenstein because he looks just like Wrightson's illustration:

If Elordi is replacing Garfield then it is 100% for the Monster. Elordi's like 6'7".

I've seen them get a few things right. Basically "this will be the final season of ______" stuff months before it was officially announced. But I've never seen them do casting.

Incredibly disappointing to know Garfield was actually going to play The Creature, a role I very much wanted to see him in. The strikes really are the gift that keeps on giving!

Elordi is a great fit for it though. Especially his physicality.

Is Deadline making the classic mistake of confusing the doctor with the creature? In the title they say Frankenstein, in the article itself Frankenstein's monster.

Well that sucks a lot. Almost kills my interest in the film entirely.

Elordi is a great actor with a really interesting physical presence that suits the Creature very well. Garfield was such a unique, inspired choice for it though.

It’s a little disappointing, but the star of the show for me is GDT. My enthusiasm only craters if Netflix drives him away.

Elordi is the next white guy they are trying to make into a full blown movie star. His talent aint on par to his hype tho, but he is simply ok to fine as an actor. GDT and the other talented actors will elevate him to their level. Eh.

It sucks to lose Garfield. I thought Elordi's been fine in the two things I've seen him in (Euphoria and Saltburn) but I really would have loved to see Garfield's take on it. But at the end of the day, as @Sawyer said the main attraction is GDT.
