For the record, LS is one of the two posters that had me most excited to join the hype as I had been following his and TNC's posts since they started posting on the Hype! So essentially, me being on here is because of them. Now you all know who to blame.

I don't mean it in a bad way.

It's a really horrible analogy, but it's really the only thing that I can think of to compare it to. It's like, I didn't wake up one day and say "Hey, I'm gonna listen to rap music", there was something about it that just appealed to me, and that's the music I prefer, and the music I listen to.

I see it the same way - you don't just wake up as say "Hey, I'm GAY!", but it just kind of appeals to you and you gravitate towards that. Why would you "choose" that? I don't know. The human mind is a really complicated thing.

And I've had it explained to me exactly that way before too. I had a teacher who was gay, and that's exactly how he stated he came about it, is that he just realized that other guys appealed to him.

Trust me, when I say all of this, it's not in any kind of negative way. Whether it is natural, or whether it is a choice, I really don't care either way. While I am of the mindset that it is a choice, I'm not of the mindset that it's bad or negative.

Oddly enough, I've never gotten a consensus either way from the gay people I've known.

Sure, some have vehemently disagreed with it, while others I've known are like "Yea, you might be right"

I've also only known about 2 or 3 gay people who weren't using it (it being their gayness) as some kind of gimmick. Coincidentally, I never knew that they were gay until they came out and flat out told me. Add another one to that list if we wanna count you, because I honestly never knew you were until this thread.

The ones who use it as a gimmick though? They really annoy the crap out of me.

I think you are confusing this "gimmick" with someone just being comfortable with themself.

No, I am not. I have met a couple gay people who were completely comfortable with themselves, and they weren't using the whole gay thing to get attention.

Most of the gay people I knew tho, were attention ****es who used being gay as a way to bring attention to themselves or get other people to feel sorry for them.

I didn't "choose" this. And I was never molested as a child or witnessed homosexual activity. So where did I "learn" this behavior from? I didn't. In fact, why on earth would anyone choose this kind of confusion in their life?

I actually have feelings similar to Nell's on the issue of people being gay as well. Like you said LS, it would be pretty hard to explain why someone would choose something that could lead to prejudice and such, but at the same time, people choose to commit crimes and do other things that probably would not lead to positive outcomes everyday as well. Maybe not the best example, but I hope you get my point.

I dont know man, Im not trying to hate on you or anyone else, but I really dont get it. Im sure someone will take my comments out of context, but again, its just my opinion, and not anything negative on LS or any other gay/bi person.
