Love your review but I just have to ask...
How was the scene when Harry has to leave Hermione and Ron to go die because he knows he has to? They changed this from the book because he never said goodbye to them but in the movie he does. I just like to know how it played out because the snippet in the trailer was heart-breaking when Hermione hugged Harry.
Worked for me.
I'll also add why I thought the epilogue was inadvertently hilarious, consider it a spoiler of sorts:
The aging they done on the kids was pretty ordinary. From what I can tell they digitally aged them by either adding in 19 years of aging in the computer, or morphing their heads on to actual 40 year old bodies, but the problem is they didn't do it very well, they still look like 18 year old kids cuddling their young siblings as apposed to their children, none of them had thinning or grey hair, very few wrinkles from what I could tell. It kinda ruined the ending a little bit because it took me out of the movie, the last shot prior to the epilogue is of the three leads and that's where it should have stayed. You know what else was missing? 'THE END' when the film finished, it needed it.
Is the game any good? Usually the movie tie-ins are terrible. I wasn't sure if I should pick this one up, or just wait for the next Lego version (I love those).
Just felt compelled to share this:
So i've taken a CRASH COURSE in Harry Potter the past 3 days...
Here's the jist:
-Not a fan and don't know a THING about the characters and/or overall story.
Last week, my friends told me how they want to see the finale Thursday night and want ME to see it with them. I told them I wasn't into the series as I thought it to be too childish for me. I mean wizards, broomsticks, magic wands? C'mon, i'm 25 years old.
However given how well received the movies are and how much my friends praise them, they convinced me to give it another shot.
So I DVRed the Marathon that played over the weekend and started watching on Sunday afternoon.
How do I feel towards the series today, 3 days later?
I went to my local Best Buy today and BOUGHT EVERY SINGLE CHAPTER ON BLURAY.
...Just last week I was as far away from a HP fan as you can imagine. However, once I finally sat down and actually WATCHED the movies, I realized that well, they're pretty great.
Granted the first two are rather difficult to sit through...not that they're bad, just incredibly dragged out. But once we hit "Prisoner of Azkaban", WOW.
I just finished up "Order of the Phoenix" tonight and will go on to the final two tomorrow, leading up to the midnight show of the finale.
Originally, I was just going to go with my friends for the sake of the (rumored) TDKR teaser trailer. Now? i'll be going as a HP fan.
