Harry using Original Green Goblin Costume?

Harry wearing the original Goblin suit? ha, keep dreaming.

Harry isn't trying to continue the Goblin legacy, he has one agenda, to kill Peter. Why would Harry want to don the costume of someone who attempted to kill a bunch of school children and the woman he loves (I think). His company makes military hardware, the suit makes sense.

Yes it's different from the comics, but everything has been changed slightly. Get over it. Christ.

@theShape: totally agree.
exactly right my friend. if harry isn't the goblin then it would look stupid for him to wear it and not laugh, or go crazy, or kill more than one person. I understand people want to see the GG suit on harry but it's not going to happen on film. personally, I think harr chose the "New Goblin" suit because he thought it was more felexible than the Goblin costume etc.

The new costume is cool, but so was the first one.

ps the comic one is not that great, but its not as stuped as people thank.

long live venom:sym:

I think they really missed the boat with Norman's costume. I would have loved to see Norman's decent into madness reflect and show in his attire by donning a creepy, grotesque, ork-like costume and mask.

I honestly don't know why everyone likes the costume from the comics so much. I agree with Mr 7000+, a creepy orc costume would have been pretty cool. But I still think the suit from the first movie is ausome.

we like the costume from the comics so much because it's awesome and it's the green goblins classic look but I love the goblin costume in spidey1 as well. the green goblin suit from spidey1 was so cool and was creepy which gave it alot of affect but I'm also glad they chose a different suit for harry.

I agree

This is exactly the route that they should have taken.

Ork like is very interesting...never thought of it like that. The Orks in LOTR were freaky as hell.

the original goblin suit worked effectively in the same way that the batman suit worked in begins, it was a military suit, the way it was built was to serve the purpose for a soldier in combat (although i don't quite get the mask for that) but in a case of visual effectiveness somehting slightly more fabric and organic would of been nicer, rather than a chunk of metal

i just wish they'd cover his whole head.

i mean..seriously, harry-fro's throwin' the look off.

harry doesn't have a fro, he has slightley curly hair. I like the fact that his heads showing, after all he is wearing goggles and a mask covering his nose and mouth so it doesn't really bother me that his head and hair is showing.

I thought the goblin suit in spidey1 was great for the movie because it could protect norman from getting shot or hert though spidey did punch the green goblins face and it did hert him. so say if somebody tried to stabb the green goblin, it wouldn't go through the suit so I think thats one of the reasons why norman even chose the suit so that it would protect him from danger.

Exactly, because the one thing the US military fear during a time of high tech warfare is a knife wound

There are 4 big resons i think Sam Ramai chose to have Harry wear a new suit.

1) Harry is prabaly more comfortable, more flexable, allows him to have weapons on himself.

2)Harrys glider looks a lot faster than the onw his father had, reasons is if you remember last fight with GG in Spider-man 1, Peter's spider sences worked when when glider came up behind, but if you read the fight scene that was shown at the Sony Convention Center, Peter was riding his little motorcycle Harry came and swooped him up from his bike.

3)His weapons seem to look very cool. He has a he has one of those wristblades on his right arm, his has a sword on him( not on the glider ), he has the GG boms and the razor bats. To me all these weapons make him more lethal and makes the fight sequences much more intense.

4) And i dont want to remember that Harry and Norman were both Green Goblins cuz i think Norman was a psycho all he wanted to do scare people and bring chaos. Harry just wants Peter to die. And I love how they made the GG suit in the first one because it looked all scary. ANd i loved how the suit totally describes what kind of a person Norman is.

exactly, the flexibility of the suit can make harry do acrobatics. now both gliders were very fast but since harrys glider is skinny and not that big I think thats one of the reasons the glider could be faster in my opinion. harry was a normal guy who was peters best friend and now he has gone a little crazy so now he see's his father in the mirror and his father tells him to take the serum gas. he takes it but doesn't go completley nuts, he just concentrates on killing peter, it's like his main goal in his life and nothing else which is why harry wears a different suit. Imean if harry was going to wear the goblin suit in the films it wouldn't have made sense for him to just go after peter.

I have no problem with harry's suit but I wish they made a better mask they could have made any contrived excuse as to why the mask is removed when harry talks to peter, goodness only knows how often peter removed his mask in SM-2

1)GG had weapons...they attached to his glider...remember that big @ss green spear, the machine gun, the rocket launcher??? This Harry as someone said resembles Batman Begins...at least Bruce wore a Batman costume instead of a military grade Iraq war suit and then call himself Night Wing because they didn't want to resemble the crappy old movies and wanted to distinguish the new Batman from the old one for the dumbed down viewers:whatever:

2)Harry's glider does seem faster, but it also doesn't seem plausible. I also don't see how it can knock down metal poles in the trailer and not break. It just looks to flimsy.

3)I do agree with you that his array of weapons is awesome.

4)Harry isn't a psycho? HAHAHA! Harry wants his best friend in the world, the guy that stuck with him through thick and thin when Norman wasn't there, the guy that protects him, and the guy Harry turns too in nearly every situation, now wants that friend dead? Not to mention he is also hearing voices in his head like Norman did even before taking the happy serum...no that is totally sane. Do all the people that see their dead father's telling them to kill people qualify as not crazy? The new suit is cool, it just could have had something that resembled a goblin on it. How hard is it to get through your skull that his mask could have been a retractable goblin mask? Hell, I would have even loved some more metal teeth like GG1 had on his mask. I mean that costume is just not menacing enough. GG's costume looked crazy evil, Harry just looks like a Marine Ops guy on vacation in Aspen, CO....literally.

I asked you to please quit saying that because you are wrong 100%. Harry wore his father's suit in the comics and his main goal was to kill Peter...what's the difference? NOTHING.

my point is that harry is not going to wear his fathers goblin suit because it's not needed. if he wanted to wear the goblin suit he could but he must have decided not to (in the films) because he wanted to kill peter and just that. sure he could have wore the goblin suit and just killed peter but I belive sam chose a little different route with harry that I find works perfectley for the films. harry defenitley could have wore it but it wouldn't have made perfect sense considering the fact that his father was a little more phsycotic than he is. he didn't wear it in the films because it wasn't need-be. he probably just didn't bother wearing the goblin suit because he wanted a more agile suit that would fit his purposes. this isn't going away from the comics, it's just a simple change of a costume that I find works great on film.

And that sounds a whole lot better than saying if Harry wanted to kill more people than Peter...he would have worn the GG suit. We have yet to see how Harry will act with the serum. Norman was a normal person before he took the serum after all. Harry is already seeing his dead dad...think about how whacked up he can become after taking the serum.

haha, i know it's not a REAL afro or anything, i was just using the the term as a means of description.

but in my opinion, i dont like the hair exposure. i feel like he could have had a spiked top similar to the green goblin mask (for aerodynamic purposes) and it would have suited the look of the overall costume fine.
but meh, to each their own right?

true, though harry seems a bit calm when he says to peter in their first fight, "you knew this was coming pete". I'm thinking maybe harry took an updated type of formula though he probably didn't, it could happen though because why would harry walk out of the gas chamber so calm when his father jamped out of the gas chamber? it actually looked like harry had a mean look on his face and was quiet when his father took the serum he was mean and threw the guy instead of reacting normally. I just find it interesting.

well harrys hair showing isn't bad because doesn't it make sense for harry to just cover his face instead of his whole head? there would be no need to in my opinion:yay:.

Here's a pic, that's the one I talk about...

I really do not like this new look. Yeah, the Goblin in the first movie's costume wasn't perfect, but it was "Goblin-like". Isn't Harry supposed to be GG2? If he is, he certainly doesn't resemble a goblin; he looks more like Snowboard-Man.

I don't mind when movies make slight changes from the source material for a better quality movie (ala Toad in X-Men, Scarecrow in Batman Begins), but this goes beyond that. It's similar to what Schumacher did with Bane in Batman & Robin, or the Absorbing Man in Hulk. I shiver just looking at it. I'm hoping that Sandman and Venom's awesomeness in this film will help take my mind off my distaste for Harry's suit.

I agree with Chaseter. The mask SHOULD be more goblin-esque. I LOVE the rest of the suit! It couldn't be any worse. But....the face mask/goggle combo isn't too great.

Plus...the forehead and the hair showing looks darn silly!

I say...a more goblin looking mask- heck, i'd keep the goggles...just implement a grin- a manic, loony grin. But alas, i dont think it'll ever be.

Still, it isnt such a big 'MEH'. I can deal. Just if Harry has the face mask off. It looks better off. :csad:

I actually don't mind it much, cause I've grown use to it. ButI think it'd be sweet if he used the original in the end.
