Harry using Original Green Goblin Costume?

the original goblin suit worked effectively in the same way that the batman suit worked in begins, it was a military suit, the way it was built was to serve the purpose for a soldier in combat (although i don't quite get the mask for that) but in a case of visual effectiveness somehting slightly more fabric and organic would of been nicer, rather than a chunk of metal

SM1 had established that Norman had a thing for frightening-looking tribal masks. If he was as crazy as he was, it wouldn't be a shock to see him flying around in a grotesque outfit. I just find it annoying that Raimi didn't take this route because not only would it resemble GG's costume in the comics but it wouldn't cause the complications that the battle suit used had.

I thought the goblin suit in spidey1 was great for the movie because it could protect norman from getting shot or hert though spidey did punch the green goblins face and it did hert him. so say if somebody tried to stabb the green goblin, it wouldn't go through the suit so I think thats one of the reasons why norman even chose the suit so that it would protect him from danger.

Nobody even fired a shot at Goblin let alone try to stab him. I appreciate that the suit is military armour but Raimi should have kept things close to the comics. Firstly, a regular citizen or even an officer wouldn't get close enough to Norman to be a threat of inflict some sort of damage. As for his bouts with spider-man, it wouldn't make a difference because they get close enough to beat each other senseless. Raimi could and should have taken a more creatively artistic approach with Norman's costume that mirrored an actual ork-like goblin.

I was thinking along these lines after watching and re-watching the first film; ork-like or similar to Meg Mucklebones from Legend (but less wet and slimey). However, I've recently developed a new appreciation for the suit used in the first movie after seeing the new and far inferior suit Harry will be donning in SM3.

I could see Norman wearing a similar costume but just not as wet, slimey and disgusting. Norman's crazy but he's not that crazy. :cwink: :yay: :word:

he wont be using the originl one. he will be using a black green goblin costume.:whatever:

why would he recreate the costume only to go back to the original .. wont happen

I'm saying if som, ebody tried to shoot the goblin suit it would either hit the suit and fall to the ground or it would bounce off. speaking of the goblin suit from the comics, it was probably difficult to use thw goblin costume from the comics on film in my opinion. from far away the suit is preety much full bulletproof. as for an ork-like goblin, that would defenitley not work because it would look way too stupid and it would actuallly mke him look like he really was a goblin which is something we don't want.

Speak for yourself...
Alex ross' goblin design was pretty cool imo...

harrys not going to wear the green goblin suit or anything that resembles a power ranger costume. go to the spiderman 3 site and they have a shot of his face/head.(you can see spidey in his eye)

thats not the best look. If sam when't with that look I would defenitley not be happy because that is just a stupid look in my opinion.
Well its more faithful to the comics than what we got in the movie

true, though I don't like the GG having a sword. I'm glad harry has a sword though. anyway I think if the GG had to look like the comics on film I would choose Alex Rosse's even though it looks a little bit weird but I guess I would be able to deal with it.

This confuses me. Your fine with Harry having a sword, but not Norman?

what I meant was that the GG isn't suppose to have a sword but harry can because he's not the green goblin. and besides, it wouldn't loook right for norman to have sword because in the comics the goblin never had one.

So? Harry is supposed to be the Green Goblin, not this New Goblin. Norman never had a trident for a weapon in the comics, but he did in the movie. They changes things for the movie, for better or for worse.

well it's not a good idea to go too far off from the comics so GG having sword would just be stupid becaus it doesn't make sense. I mean Norman used his fists, pumpkin bombs, and things from his glider along with a spear but why would he use a spear if he had a sword. I don't think it would be cool.

When did harry learn to fight with a sword?
I don't think he does. it'ss the serum gas that makes him have better strength and agility which makes him faster at moving, etc.

So let me get this straight.
Harry not becoming the Green Goblin is fine and dandy, but god forbid if Norman were to use a sword, that would be going too far off from the comics?

woooo there horsy, when does strength and agility equate to moving faster? and how does moving faster produce skilful sword play?

almost like that. I mean harry not being the GG is not goingt too far off from the comics because harry's story in spidey3 is the same as in the comics.
