The Dark Knight Harvey Dent/Two Face Thread

Ok, I remember that now. Isn't the JL movie canceled? So hopefully there won't be any conflicts of interest.

Oh, I completely agree about the 'SAY IT' line. I was worried that people would complain about the lack of gravelly voice, but - for me - the sudden bursts of anger were enough. Besides, Two-Face's voice would sound too much like Batman. So this worked for me. Come to think of it, all of Two-Face's lines were spectacular.

GORDON: I'm sorry.
DENT: No. You're not. Not yet.

DENT: That's funny, 'cause I don't know what's going to happen to you either.

DENT: You're a lucky man. *flip* He's not.
MARONI: Who?
DENT: Your driver.

Aaron Eckhart was fantastic. End of story.

And no, I REALLY don't think that Two Face is dead. He could easily return in the third film.

They had a funeral but they could have easily replaced the body and not many ppl saw how he looked as two-face so he may very well just be in Arkham.

Killing him off was pointless, and now Batman is apparently a murderer.

Batmans not a murderer everyone just thinks he is. Its different. Scare tactics, what Batmans been about.

I dont think it was pointless to kill him. His story was over. If 2 Face continues it'll be as a coin flipping serial killer.

He saved Gordon's son, but in doing so also killed Harvey, its not murder, no one would ever be convicted in a case like that, Batman isn't an executioner, he just doesn't kill in cold-blood

No choice....

But that tissue hanging from side of the mouth? Sick in all definitions.

as i said right before your post, Nolan and crew are probably hoping for is the natural assumption of audiences to think that when there is a memorial, that character is dead. in the next film they could very easily show the real truth of Two-Face imprisoned/ under treatment in Arkham

oh without a doubt WB will insist on the 3rd film, but is Nolan and crew a willing collaborator? there was a brouhaha between WB and the Nolan regarding Justice League and thats where the rift started. and it wasnt just a small spat it was bad enough to the point that Christian Bale was forced to choose between staying loyal to Nolan and crew or follow his interest and helm the JL movie (he chose the former, and thats how the casting disaster of the JL movie was born)
Not true.

I'd just like to post a "Ha!" to all the people who argued with me several months ago that the Harvey's face in the gasoline scene in the trailer, had nothing to do with his face scarring and that it for sure was going to happen in the courtroom.

I love fake inside information.

Yeah I thought his face was going to burn up in the courtroom, but that wasn't a courtroom. :(

there is 454 pages so this may already be here. did anyone notice at the end of the movie that when Harvey flipped the coin for Batman it was the good heads. Harvey decided to shoot Bats anyways. He broke his compulsion to obey the coin cause he just really wanted to shoot Batman.

I think it was just the lighting that made it look like the good heads. But it did look like the good heads.

Nope the Coin was dark. I've seen the MOvie 3 times already and looked closely at that scene and I do agree that it could've been the lighting that caused it to look like the good side.

im just wondering, since we're anticipating the presence of Harvey Dent on the next film, WHERE IS HARVEY DENT during the events of BATMAN BEGINS?

what do u think are the reasons that would be, or SHOULD be stated in the sequel for his absence in BB?

# my guess would be that he practiced law in another state, and also like Batman, he has come back to Gotham because he felt that Gotham needed a decent brilliant lawyer like him. may i also assume that Bruce, harvey, & Rachel were friends in their youth....

im sorry if somebody has started this thread & raised this Q already, if so, dear moderators, feel free to close it down &/or point me to a url of d thread. thanks!

He is dead and he will not return. END NO MORE,
or he is in Arkum under a different name.,

Loved this version of Harvey/Two-Face. I definitely felt for him & I think he has the best look of Two-Face yet. Would love to see him return in the third movie.

That's what he is. What's so hard to understand about this???

but what people are tryingot get at is that they didnt want harvey to spoil his reputation and make peopel lose hope,so he died a hero in their eyes and that will keep the spirit of gotham going

Oh, to anyone who was trying to imply significance into the cutting to the shot of the coin landing good side up when Batman Tackles Harvey, and saying that it could imply Harvey survives, why else cut to that shot?

Because the coin was being flipped for the kid. They were showing the outcome of it, being that Batman saved him/implying a bit of hope in the end with the clean side of the coin.

Also, for an editing standpoint it provided that brief moment of suspense before we see what happened. That is, the alternative would have been to just cut straight to batman and the kid hanging, instead of an insert before hand.

That insert could have been Barbara's Face, or what have you, but the coin was the best one.

It was definitely bad side up.

However, When he flips the coin for the second cop, Ramirez, he says "live to fight another day" and just hits her instead of shooting her. That would imply she got the good side up, and yet, Gordon states in the end that two cops were killed, making for five victims.

Any who, it could just be Gordon assuming he killed them both, but that doesn't make sense because he knew that there were three people killed in the Maroni car crash.
