Has Fox hit a dead end with their Marvel Properties?

The day Marvel Studios get the rights to the X-Men back is the day we can forever say goodbye to any chance of ever seeing She-Hulk, Moon Knight, Blade etc. on the big screen.

Man, I so wish Fox would just get their **** together and finally do those characters some justice, so we wouldn't have to hear about all this "give the rights back to Marvel!" stuff anymore.
The Fantastic Four on the other hand, yep, I definitely agree that those guys belong to MS.

To me it's hardly crucial those characters get movies.

You want to know something else. I'm glad we never got another Daredevil movie. We got a much darker edgier and more violent TV show as a result. Sometimes TV > movies. Daredevil is way more suited for an adult TV show than a movie. Some of those other properties are the same.

That way they don't have to live and die by box office results and what not.

X Men should be in the MCU. Fox can own the rights but Marvel Studios should creatively control everything. Like the Sony deal, it's undeniably the best option

I personally dont like X-Men in MCU. I think they wouldnt be different than rest of heroes. And dynamic of X-men storylines as humans fear them would be drastically reduced, including many villain motives . I mean why would they fear them if you have superpowered group called Avengers, next Defenders (on street lvl) etc. Makes no fricking sakes. And whole purpose of them being evolution of normal humans wouldnt be any special if there are already super powered people in world. I think X-Men with different studio in different seperate universe works better.

Now if Fox could give us actual comics X-Men on big screen and get the frick out with Kingberg and Singer that would be start. And then ofcourse costumes, storylines already not seen and Magneto not villain in every movie but walking out as good guy at the end with bromance Charles-Erik.

after apocalypse maybe we can expect them to do te 90s movie and when that bombs they make a similar deal. by then the mcu will be flagshipped by spidey and the x-men just like the 90s cartoons and comics.

i love how XMA is the first badly reviewed x men film since 2009 and apparently it need to be rebooted, franchise is stale, sell back to marvel, etc. lol
I love how critics are now validations of some people's opinions of the franchise being bad, even though with a 91% on RT the same people still criticized the hell out of DOFP and the franchise.

Yeah, why is everyone freaking out?? Remember how just TWO years ago we were all singing Bryan Singer's praises to the Heavens? Now he comes out with a mixed reception film and everyone's all " GET RID OF SINGER! GET RID OF KINDBERG! FOX DOESNT KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING." Man, people are so quick to turn the same creative team that made them happy for years. First Class was an amazing film, The Wolverine was good, Days of Future Past was incredible, Apocalypse was awesome (imo, I know it's got mixed opinions).

Fox has NOT hit a dead end with the Marvel Porperties. Not by a long shot. X-Men is fine, Deadpool is their new star and he alone will ensure Fox never returns the rights. The only "dead end" FOX has is with Fantastic Four. They need to completely reevaluate that particular franchise.

Smh then face palm. it works in the comics. X-Men in the MCU will easily easily easily work

I doubt we would have or will ever get a Daredevil movie as good as the TV show.

I'd love to see a She Hulk vs. Daredevil court trial.

I don't think it does work in the comics, I never understood how the female X-men, who look like super models, are hated and feared, but the Thing, who is a giant rock monster, seems to be beloved. It also weird how it seems like other marvel heroes rarely seem to get involved in the mutant rights issue, you think Reed or Cap would make some effort to address this problem, but they don't and really does come off as the rest of the MU doesn't care of the plight of the mutants.

The X-Men do work better in their own world.

People criticize The Avengers and it has a 92 RT, same with Civil War with 90 RT. That's the way it is.

There's a compelling case to be made that the movies are popular because they aren't the comics. There are plenty of cases where deviation from the source material worked better than blindly following the prescribed formula for X character.

Can't believe a marvel fan would actually support the X-Men not being a part of the universe they were always intended to be a part of. Lol

After IW they're gonna need more steam on both ends so te deal is coming soon. Not right away but soon.

Because 90% of the time, they might as well be in their own universes.

x men's big crutch is dealing with prejudice and the public judging them for being different having them join a universe where that doesn't happen takes away a core aspect of what makes x men so special

The way I see it, X-Men will always be part of the Marvel brand. It doesn't matter if Fox is making those movies, because they were created by Marvel Comics and it will go back to Marvel someday, eventually, when the superhero bubble has finally burst like a star gone supernova. We might be old and gray by then, but it will still happen. Meanwhile, I don't really mind that Fox is leasing the properties and making those movies, but I disagree with the notion that if they were to become part of MCU, Marvel Studios won't do a good job with them. I think they have already prove that they can handle any kind of property, from big to obscure character, and treat them with attention and respect.

You make a good point there but let's be real, there's probably a lot of people who probably feel very different than you. Like me, for example: as someone who doesn't even watch tv series, what do I care about getting more of them. I prefer to get my fix of superheroes from the big screen, thank you very much. :hehe:

But I'm not gonna lie, I do agree that we really shouldn't keep giving Fox passes for their continued failures (or half-failures, in the case of Apocalypse). I just hope that after their latest movie they've learned their lesson, because this is getting silly.

It just doesn't make any sense that humans would hate the X-Men but not the other superheroes. This is why I'm fine with them being with another studio, I just wish said studio would finally get its **** together and finally start doing them justice.
Honestly, I kinda feel the same about Batman, him and his world barely seem to belong to a bigger universe inhabitated by uber-powerful aliens and gods and whatnot, it makes them feel ridiculously pointless and... tiny. But I digress.

Nope. If Fox continues to hire people that would produce good movies that performs well at the box-office.

Recall that many fans also harassed and attacked Joss Whedon so badly after Age of Ultron, he quit the internet, and by all accounts has lost major faith in humanity.

And he made The Avengers, which to most around here is the gold standard (it certainly defined the Marvel Studios formula going forward).

So yeah, Singer takes far more liberties, so of course his name is mud now, even though he is 3 out of 4 with his X-Men movies (and Apocalypse isn't exactly a strikeout, either).

However, with all that said, I do think the franchise is in desperate need of new creative blood. A new director with a new vision for the characters that embraces the comics in a more stylish way (Singer actually did embrace the comics with DOFP and Apocalypse, but fans pretend that didn't happen). But this reboot and Marvel talk is just fanboy daydreaming at the moment.

I think there's no question they need a fresh vision. I was bored with Singer with DOFP.

The problem is, if you look at the Fox Marvel films that weren't made by Singer, there were two good ones and nine stinkers. So once Singer's out of the picture, the odds are pretty grim.

So the question becomes:
