I agree. That tiny scene with Alfred tickled my fancy as a fan and it was what? Less than a minute clip? It was full of charm and awareness of heart. It baffles me that WB can look at that clip and scrap it. Imagine an entire Superman film in that same vein of what that minute clip provided us. Henry can get it done. My fingers are purple they are crossed so hard for Henry to get a second; long contract as Clark.
The deleted scene felt honest, and genuine. The cell phone scene, and ALL the reshoots for that matter, felt contrived and forced. Like they were trying to project this 'idea' of what Superman is, as opposed to a fully developed character of his own.
This applied to more than just Superman in JL of course. Everything original feels like it's coming from a place of character. Whereas the re-shoots feel like people going back and giving a half-assed attempt at an imitation of their characters doing things they never would have done or said.
