Justice League Henry Cavill IS Clark Kent/Superman - - - - - - - - - - Part 19

I'd like to see how he reacts to being alive again. Does he remember anything or did it feel like just being in a coma. I want to see both Lois and Martha's reaction to him being alive. They really have to sell that.

I also want to see if we get to see his dynamic with the other heroes, especially the new ones and as a group. And how do they view him. What's their perspective on him. I liked how in Smallville, even the other heroes looked up to Clark, like he was even a superhero to actual superheroes. And finally, and this is important to come full circle, how does the world react to him being back.

After all, if this is a continuation of MOS and BvS, these are all important storylines to complete the arc on: Clark's existence in this world.

Well, we do know that the scene featuring Clark and Martha's reunion in "Justice League" was in fact Snyder's footage.

Whether or not Snyder filmed more scenes between them before he flies off to join the league in Russia is a different story.

It was also revealed that Lois actually witnesses Clark bursting out of the scout ship upon his revival as opposed to being brought on by Bruce like the theatrical version shows. We've only seen a brief snippet of this moment from the first trailer.

In regards to his interactions with the rest of the league, I am honestly not expecting much. We know that he interacts with Bruce in Snyder's version. And it was also confirmed that Superman works with Cyborg in separating the mother-boxes from each other at the climax of the final fight. You can tell that the shot of Superman removing the boxes from each other is Snyder's based on Cavil's hairstyle and the fact that his jawline doesn't look artificially smooth.

has JJ mentioned anything about him having talked to WB about Superman yet this year? Thx

I don’t think he’s done any press since TRoS, so the last time he was asked about it was that Rolling Stone interview in December where he “unconvincingly” (the reporter’s description) said he hadn’t had those discussions with WB yet, despite his Bad Robot offices being littered with Superman stuff. The last “official comment” I’ve seen on it was from Damon Lindelof less than a month ago, saying that Superman is JJ’s long-term obsession, that he wants to see an Abrams Superman movie and that he doesn’t have his own take that would be better than JJ’s.

Thanks, I kept on thinking he let it slip that he's talking with WB or something this year. =P Maybe mixed up with Campea's scoop

Yeah there's been a few recent "scoopers" implying movement has happened there, but that's it.

Seems like a matter of time. JJ Abrams is the most lucky filmmaker in Hollywood. He has gotten some of the most amazing projects to work on these past 15 years. He's reliable and consistent.... despite not being the best in certain areas. Of course WB is going to want him, if he's into it.

Abrams can direct if he isn't writing the story as I have said before I have no desire of seeing remakes of movies with a certain twist and lately that's been Abrams style.

That's certainly a fare criticism in my opinion. He's a better director than he is a writer... hands down.

However I'd gladly take JJ's script over whatever generic, cookie cutter, formulaic script that WB comes up with... given their history. We need another Nolan - an artist who WB is willing to trust with an artistic vision. Because the second WB starts micromanaging or making creative requests.. it's done for.

Unless something has changed. It may have. Time will tell.

Somebody get Jeff Nichols on the phone.
I don't see him coming onboard for anything other than a complete standalone, like Reeves' terms.

Here are his quotes on Aquaman, when he was courted:

"But, you now [sighs] the trick with ‘Midnight Special’ is even though it was made at the studio, they gave me a lot of control over the process. And I don’t just mean control over final cut, but it felt like we were making one of my movies. I had my team. I had my family there. My crew. We made the movie we all wanted to make. With the DC universe, so many parts of it had been activated and so many decisions had already been made that it felt more and more — and Warner Bros. agreed — that it was me trying to jump on a moving train. That’s not so much what I’m good at. I’m more of a ground up kinda guy."

In response to whether he'd consider something in the future:

"Not really. Because, it’s all a connected universe. And it should be. And I was an advocate of that. The decisions that Zack (Snyder) is going to make in Batman vs. Superman, those all connect to things that are going to happen in Justice League and all that. And I was a huge comic book nerd, so I know all these characters and they all need to be beautifully webbed together. I was just far enough on the outside that I could develop things in a vacuum all day long but it wasn’t going to line up with everything they had planned."

The way WB is investing in the multiverse leads to all types of exciting possibilities. Having Cavill guest starring while a new Superman stars in a standalone film doesn't seem far-fetched now.
Definitely. Doing it with Batman means all bets are off

Everybody wins too. Those in favor of a reboot and those that want Cavill to continue. Its the best approach tbh

I’d honestly be cool if Cavill did the Shazam universe and we got a rebooted Superman in a stand-alone series (if so it better be Corenswet). We really could end up with three Supermen all at once with Tyler on TV. And who knows maybe even 4 if they include Routh, heck given how WB love the Reeve Superman so much what’s to say Routh doesn’t appear in Flashpoint and he gets something to do afterwards too. We really could be living in the best of times given the multiple iterations of these characters.

I still think Henry deserves another solo film before anyone else first. It would be a crime if he doesn't get another shot at a standalone film. It's inevitable if The Rock thing takes off but I do think, at this point, everything is on the table.

That’s what I’d choose if I had the choice but to get a different option like I suggested I’d be cool with too

I'd like to see Cavill get another solo but most of all I want to see WB have a long-term multiverse plan for Superman.

Hoechlin on the CW covers the tv side of things and presents Superman married with a child. Cavill guest stars in the Shazam and Black Adam universe. Routh can be flexed into a cameo depending on the circumstances and a new actor such as Corenswet would star in a solo series giving the next director great freedom going forward.

It would be great for Superman fans because it offers different versions of Superman at different stages in his life simultaneously. I couldn't ask for anything more.

If they gave him Superman the way they gave Reeves Batman I would be so happy I might turn into a being of pure joyous energy and ascend to the Heavens before I even got a chance to see it.

Does anyone know WHY Whedon chose to use that cell phone scene with Henry's messed up face at the start of the film? It does nothing for the film itself and only sets up bad expectations.

Not that it would save the film but that was one bad, stupid decision... Someone no like Henry IMO.

To show how different the tone of the movie is.
