Justice League Henry Cavill IS Clark Kent/Superman - - - - - - - - - - Part 19

Ima be real. Everyone knows I loved MoS and BvS. I hope everyone also knows I have tried to keep a balanced mind about their financial and critical performances.

With all that said, I would love to just move on from the narratives in those films. Let the next Superman film just be its own thing. I don’t even care that folks think Clark is dead. No explanation needed. Just move on.

No more looking backward. It’s time to look forward.

That is what is most likely is going to happen in the grand scheme of things and I have a feeling Superman: Rebirth elements are going to be used in Superman's next reintroduction, but..

***********spoilers, dont read further if you must**********

..they are literally going back to Man of Steel and have brought Zod and Faora in The Flash and Henry is apart of those Flash reshoots so I can see Henry beginning the phase of his mentor role if givin the opportunity to finally meet Supergirl in the DCEU. You can still move on and do fresh stories but honor what has come before.

Exactly. Henry references For Tomorrow in the vein of relating the Superman character to his own in how iconic Superman doesn't always have to be played full of joy all the time and can be taken serious. He's been on record multiple times on how he wants balance and classic elements to be there. His exact words were how he wants his Superman to finally enjoy being Superman so that right there is a pretty important comment.

Plus, we're also talking so long ago. It has been awhile since Henry put on the suit or wasn't able to talk Superman, so I'm sure he had a ton of time to think about things. We can either have an overlord like Whedon to not allow his actors have any say whatsoever or we can have a lead like Cavill who thinks highly of the character and respects the lore. This is a guy who impress's his creative teams, makes suggestions and knows lines from the source material word for word where the crews use his suggestions in the final scene and cut. I'd rather have the latter. You want a leading role to bounce around fresh takes and ideas.

We are going to find out more on the 26th with his big interview. Pretty exciting the cat is out of the bag and he can finally talk Superman again.

It’s very exciting and we should be happy to have Superman on both screens at the same time.

I can’t wait to see what he has to say, the thing is the guys an absolute gent so you know he’s not gonna throw anyone under the bus. But I think he may hint at some of what went down and hopefully what we have to look forward to.

Right onnnn right on!

I fully admit I never thought Henry was going to be able to make a full comeback especially after what the rumored Flash plotline was and the JJ Abrams produced reboot that was greenlit with an actual screenwriter writing a draft. But he managed to outlast the old regime where there was clearly an impasse for whatever reasons, money, creative control, solo film.

Rather than going in circles on how this all came down, I'm just glad there's an actual resolution. Henry and his Superman have been in limbo since the summer of 2018 when rumors first started to spread across the internet that Henry was out as Superman and those scoopers posted endless images of Henry waving goodbye.

Now we can look forward and even have some fun speculating about creative teams and the artistic direction for the next film. I certainly think Henry is going to have creative input on the next story.

This post needs pinned. Very well said.

I was thinking back on all of this and remember that awful day in 2018 when Henry was supposedly out and he put up that strange video of that action figure. It hit me right away and believe that Henry was saying that he was put back in the box. What do you do with action figures if you can't play with them? You put them on the shelf. I think he was saying he was shelved in that video.

The latter of your post I agree whole heartedly.:applaud

I just always has a feeling they’d put it right and he’d come back, I think maybe my hope came from knowing there was yet another new regime coming in. I knew when that JJ project was announced it wouldn’t happen aswell. I totally thought it was a publicity stunt at the time and do even more so now.

It’s gonna be a fun time for sure going forward.

Yep. Ray Fisher called that out immediately and all that "announcement" did was cause an uproar and made Henry trend even harder:funny::funny:

@Tra-El, good to see you again, man. I know you’ve been waiting for this day for a long ass time. Great to see you excited about things.

Yeah it was a total “we’re not racist” PR move by the old regime.

Thanks man! It's nice to talk again. I won't lie, there was a weird conundrum going on with me over the years. Had some really low moments missing the gool 'ol days shared with everyone and feared we'd never reach that level again. And on some, slivers of hope would return, only to be dashed..then revived lol.

We been through a lot of BS as a fanbase, but I won't lie, this past SDCC felt like BvS levels when Henry was rumored to be there. Everyone was lit and ready for it. When he didn't show, followed by Rock's interview of uncertainty afterwards, that was going to be the last time I decided my heart was going to get crushed and Black Adam was going to be my last hope for good so I remained all in one last time. Thankfully, for Henry fans atleast, it was all worth it. I am legit rejuvenated again. That's all I ever asked to be again when this journey started in 2017. Nonetheless, always appreciated you and your insight man. Hoping WBD delivers for years to come!

Welp, according to The Hollywood Reporter a new Cavill Superman movie is in early development and looking for writers. McQuarrie is on the wishlist.

Let's goooooooooooooooo, Cavill's back and with a solo sequel to boot! :D

When Dwayne Johnson said he was listening to the fans, he wasn't kidding.

Wild to me that this month has brought confirmations on both Cavill and Jackman’s returns. Last year I would never have expected to see either of them again.

It'd be nice to finally see a modern Superman film where the Director isn't using some brownish-yellow filter (e.g., Superman Returns) or desaturating the colors with grainy footage (MOS & BvS).

I was kinda hoping for a new rebirth with DC going forward. A complete burn out of the old. Now the bald man is back, the toupee department must be ecstatic. Jenkins recently talking about WB asking her to make more WW after the third one. Batfleck kinda unofficially being back. WB seems to finally be moving their ass, a bit too late perhaps, but let us watch them comic film world burn. Hell, these films cant be more worse than what that madam web looks like.

Also, since one of you bastahs had the audacity to mention Faraci on here. VA mentioned Thicc Grace info on all things Flashpoint is legit.

Flash is undergoing massive reshoots. Story has changed. Those leaks are no more.

how do you always just go to something negative? :funny:

Doesn't make it any less true. :(

Given everything that we've witnessed in the past nine years, I won't feel completely at ease until the film comes out.
