BvS Henry Cavill IS Superman - Part 11

Im all for a brighter, more colorful, and less serious Superman. Bring it on Snyder. Show the difference of Batman and Superman while making both sides awesome. Frank Miller made Batman awesome, but his Superman was lame. I know Snyder wont make that mistake.

I cant believe there is anyone in this forum who can nitpick this costume. Someone said, it looks cheap like a fan made Spider-man costume. Others moan that the buckle is soooooooo out of place lol. I don't get it!. This is the definitive Superman costume and puts the MOS costume to absolute shame. There is not one thing I can fault here. This is what I have dreamed of ever since I heard the cinematic Superman was being rebooted.

The new belt is growing on me, though I wish they had more of it showing. I think the cut off on both sides of the buckle makes it look weird.

Exactly, there's not one thing YOU can fault here. Others can though, like me, pretty much the only problem I have is the gap between the top of the S and the collar. It looks loads better when they were closer together.

How does that address their concerns whatsoever? The fear they have is that we will get an unsympathetic characterization of Superman like in Miller's DKR, in which Superman was also portrayed as overly muscled, "alpha" and as a bad guy. A Superman who is scary is exactly what Snyder critics do not want. They do not want an edgy, intimidating Superman. They want hope and goodness to contrast with Batman's darkness and cynicism.

I think your fears are misplaced. Superman won't be the unsympathetic guy or the villain, if anything, the early "leaks" indicate that Batman might be the antagonist figure in this tale.

And Superman is till about hope and goodness, superman can be both, extremely badass as well as very noble - as is routinely portrayed in the comic. So I don't mind if they make him look really badass. His look will be intimidating and scary for the bad guys and the villains who will **** their pants when they see him but for the normal folks, he will be inspiring and reassuring, knowing that they will be saved from harm.

The only true thing we can gauge in such a picture is that the color is more vibrant and brighter. This is awesome!

I agree. But I think Warner Bros and Snyder heard all the criticism that the costume in MOS was too dark. So they made changes to try and appease the audience.

If you'd bothered to actually understand my post you'd know that I wasn't insulting the suit...but hey, good for you! Internet, opinions and all that jazz.

That's weird. That's the same thing people were saying about the first leaked photos of Cavill in MOS saying that oh, he's wearing a muscle suit, later we saw the shirtless leaked photos and that appeared to not be the case. This was all Cavill's muscles.

When I was a kid watching superheroes, they didnt need muscle suits. But the suit looks good - I am glad they listened to all the criticisms and have made it more colorful. Also that they have covered up Cavill's chest more so we dont see the chest hair.

I don't think it's supposed to be a muscle suit in-universe though.

It's just part of the changing the actors into someone else, like Chris Evans' blonde wig. Sure, they could make him grow his hair out and dye it blonde, but what's the point if it looks the same? I haven't seen anyone complaining about a contrast between the shirtless scene and the suit in MOS either. I'm not sure what Henry look like under there right now, but as long as there isn't a scene in BvS of shirtless flabby Cavill that takes me out of the movie, then I'm all good.

The chest hair was a bit too much. I mean sure they wanted to show he's all man, you know beard and chest hair but sometimes less is more and its nice they covered him up!

A lot of men (probably most) have freakin' chest hair. I'm glad Henry didn't wax or do laser hair removal. In my 20s, I bought into all that narcissistic crap and I think we should just let real men be real. Plus, once you start waxing or do the laser, you have to keep it up for the rest of your life. It damages follicles, changes hair patterns (like where new hairs from ruined follicles grow straight out instead of laying down nicely). And while some hair goes away permanently, random patches grow back. Again, if you start removing hair, good chance you'll be stuck doing it forever. Ain't cheap either!

These are things salons and medical offices won't tell you. But I will. I hope you've enjoyed this little sermon on chest hair. And learned a lot.

How about he was wearing a shirt at comic con, along with a man who is bigger naturally than him? ... you look at the candid pictures he did on set with tighter clothes he is in fact bigger than he was in Mos.

Anyways, at the end of the day, what counts is what well will see in the finished movie. Not what we see in a paparazzi photo ( which look good imo)

Not that they didn't need it. It just that they decided to not put on Reeve ( who refused to put on one) George Reeve for example had one.

Cavill looks bigger than how he looked at the time of shooting of MOS, so I don't get the complaints that he is less muscular now.

Cavill looks awesome as usual-Kind reminds me of Birthright Supes and Curt Swan Superman.

Dont like the hairline.
And lastly the colors will likely look exactly the same as MOS suit after filter is applied.Which is fine by me I loved the visuals in MOS.
