New interview by Henry Cavill.

Good find, Jokes. So, we are getting a more introverted take on the Clark Kent persona after all. This is what I was hoping for.

Part of me still wishes we got a MoS sequel first before the vs/team-up so we could have gotten a more flushed out Superman/Clark.

I doubt there's going to be too much new character development for Superman with all that's going on.

Economically though I understand the choice WB made.

Given that the story revolves around the world's reaction to Superman, I'm sure there will be plenty of development.

Ironically, I feel like Superman will HAVE to develop as a character in order to take on the responsibilities of the world and move on from his choice with Zod.

Henry describes Clark as a "delicate flower." I'm going to guess that this is someone who is sensitive, probably intellectual, and perhaps the last person one would ever expect to get into a fight. A total pacifist? Clark comes across as masculine (if not macho) in the conversation with Bruce at the party. I'm really intrigued to see what he was getting at with that phrase.

He also said "my Clark Kent is trying to be as small and invisible as possible" which is the impression I got when he shook hands with Luthor.

I didn't get that vibe at all. If anything it was Bruce who was doing all the posturing.

Like I mentioned above, I think he was trying to convey that his portrayal will come across as more of an introvert, i.e., someone who doesn't really stand out, regardless of physical appearance. "Delicate flower" can be interpreted in a number of ways. I'm guessing his use of the term here is meant to denote innocence or passivity.

Funny that I mentioned this line from Shakespeare's Macbeth just a few days ago, in this very thread -- but it's relevant here as well: 'Look like the innocent flower, but be the serpent under't." Never mind the second part, as that alludes to cunning. Instead, focus on the words 'innocent' and 'flower.' When used together, they simply mean: play the role of the chump, the guy no one would ever suspect of anything.

Bruce was bringing out the Superman in him, which most likely wasn't an accident.

Clark has only been doing the secret identity thing for eight months. The right person can probably still get him to crack if they apply enough pressure.

Sorry for the confusion here. What I was trying to get at was the notion of being a "delicate flower" versus behaving in a masculine/aggressive way. I was just trying to say that Clark is plenty masculine in that scene. Not who was more confrontational between Bruce and Clark, if that's what you mean. Am I making sense?

Yeah. I noticed the part where Bruce looks down when he says the "freaks dressed up as clowns" line. It's like he's saying "I know who you are."

I think it's obvious that Clark is standing up to Batman, even though he's hiding that he knows for some reason.

Wait... You think this is inferior? To the MOS Figure??? LOL I'm sorry I have no issue with anyone's opinion but wow... That's a bizarre one.

The new body is in my opinion far superior to the MOS one. It'll be interesting to see whether it's as unnaturally tall. However I don't care much for the new head sculpt as IMHO it makes the lower half of his face look small.

There you go, differing opinions expressed without resorting to personal abuse. Isn't that nice?

Exactly. Let's remember, it's all just an act. Regardless of how Clark tries to present himself in public, there will be times, such as this one, when his true persona shines through the facade. Considering that Bruce, too, comes across very Batman-ish there, one could assume that the scene in question is designed to showcase the kind of strong and clearly transparent dynamic both men will have throughout the course of the film. Indeed, people who know you best have a tendency to see right through you; and it would seem that Bruce and Clark, two intellectuals of the highest order (or so I hope), are already at this stage.

I thought it was 18 months.

My interpretation of the scene:

Lex knew both their alter egos and organized the party as a front just to have them meet, then sprinkled some kind of subliminal message ("...should not pick a fight with this person" = beat him up) in the aggressor's head (Wayne) to start the chain reaction.

Yep, having both of them at the party won't be a coincidence.

Thing is, the tension between them started before Luthor delivered that line.

Yeah, he's still definitely masculine and not a "flower" :oldrazz:
