I picked up the Superman Empire Cover this morning from Morrisons. Tried WH Smith and Sainsburys before that but they only had the Batman cover.

Posting this here too,

Cavill's dedication to the role is admirable, to the point that he maintains a certain level of fitness just so he can more easily slip back into Superman mode when required. But his understanding of the role and how he has to champion it in real life is even more impressive. Fair dues to the guy.

Posting this here too,

LOL, Joseph Hartnett. Poor guy has already been all but forgotten. Shame, he's actually turned into a pretty good actor. But he would have been all wrong for Superman or Batman back then.

Anyway, Cavill really seems to get the character and I like that he's dropped hints about Luthor being a "long-term" villain. Whatever happens to him in this movie, hopefully he will keep popping up throughout the series.

I actually disgaree on Josh Hartnett not been right for Superman back then. I think he'd have been amazing. They apparently screen tested him for Ratner's version and he knocked out out of the park but was put off by a trilogy taking a decade.

I wouldn't trade Cavill for anyone though think he's perfect and I'm glad he did MOS when he did as I think other movies roles and the Tudors set him up better for the role.

I agree. Probably a bit like Loki in the Marvel film universe, always there in the background and scheming away.

Pic of Superman before congress looks great. Hope it is a quality scene. I think it's the best chance for Cavill to shine.

Only if he has a big smile on his face the whole time Congress is blaming him for the deaths of thousands of people.

You know what? It's always going to be hard for us - as fans who know the character - to accept that the 'disguise' could be plausible. But when I look at these photos, I do think it's conceivable that other characters in the MOS/BvS universe would buy that Clark Kent and Superman are two different dudes who just happen to resemble each other.

Especially if Clark makes it his business to remain invisible in the public, unlike Superman who makes himself be seen by all as it will turn out to be the case in this movie. But ultimately, I'll just suspend disbelief and I'm fine with the disguise.

Clark Kent and Sups look great by the way. My favorite shots of both personas thus far.

Plus, one persona likes to smile in front of people and another person is apparently never seen smiling in front of the public :o:oldrazz:

But in all honesty, I can't wait to see what they have in stored with the Clark Kent persona. I've been begging for ages to have a movie that actually takes advantage and utilize Clark's profession as a Journalist to contribute to the main plot of the film.

It helps that the suit really accentuates his musculature but he looks nowhere near as defined when he's in Clark Kent clothes. By comparison, Reeve/Cain/etc didn't look anywhere near as built as Cavill so there was no massive difference physique wise when they switched from the Superman suit to plain clothes.

I love those two pics as well. I can't wait to see the full congress scene.

The CK disguise works just fine as long as people like lois, jimmy and maybe perry are aware of it and that's because they're close to both CK and Superman so it would be inconceivable that they wouldn't put two and two together.
As for the general public there is no reason in hell anyone would think the god-like, perfect superman would have a 9 to 5 day job in a field that is all but dying, it doesn't make any sense.
Just imagine if you're working at an office and one of your colleagues looks exactly like tom cruise but happens to be very mild-mannered/dull and wears thick glasses, you wouldn't imagine for a second that this is tom cruise taking time out of his movie star life/schedule to work a regular day job and superman's case you'd multiply this by a billion!
In this DCEU they wisely took out the superman, CK, lois triangle and so I have no problem with the CK disguise and anyone who does is overthinking this.
