OMG, those old time Superman comic book covers are the best. It's like DC REALLY wanted to try and hoodwink people into thinking Superman was the biggest d**k in the universe.

He just looks so warm, soft and clean.... i bet he smells lovely and radiates calm and love... like, you would just wanna be near him all day... like, offering to help him get dressed...

ok my wife just saw me write this and left the house...

Oh I am doing fine. Lusting after Henry, laying out ideas for an adventure story that I'm trying to write and wondering whether I want to buy a 250 or 500GB Playstation 3. And you?

They were fantastic, lol. Like really great "clickbait" headlines when it came to Superman.

Hahaha yes! They were the original clickbait. And it wasn't just Superman. Remember the "Rainbow Batman" one? "I MUST, ROBIN. I MUST WEAR A DIFFERENT COLORED COSTUME EACH NIGHT!" LOL, they were so bizarre.

Kek. Peasant. :p

I'm in my bed. All cozy. It's late night here you know. Got my driving license today. Still trying to figure out what tough subject I should draw next. It's been over a month since I did Finch's Wonder Woman. :)

Yes! Especially with the early Batman and Robin comics. Just eye-catching headlines you couldn't resist to find more about only to figure how anti-climactic the read is. Haha.

I'm always behind on videogame systems and honestly I don't want a PS4 now. I'll probably buy a PS4 well after Sony releases a PS5. Mostly I buy it to play 10-20 year old games anyway.

Congrats on getting your license.

Speaking of Wonder Woman, I still don't own a Wonder Woman tee-shirt. I must rectify the issue.

Thanks. :)

I need a Wondy t-shirt as well, thanks for reminding me.

P.S. Do you think the mods will get all strict and warn-y with this chit-chat?

I think they only do that when it's a long on going thing.

That one was pretty clever. Good story imo.

Having just watched Man of Steel for the 100th time, I really watched Cavill a lot on this watch and he's so good in the film. One thing I took note of was his dialogue, he's got plenty, I don't get why people said he barely says a word in MOS.

Yeah, I never really got that complaint either. The only times when his dialogue is really sparse is when he's wandering alone. Did people really expect him to talk to himself the whole time or something?

His character is a lot like Rey in SW... Unsure how he fits in the world but believing that something great could happen down the line.

Haha yeah the probably wanted him to talk to himself. I think people have to remember that the only reason these characters have lots to say in the comics are because of thought bubbles.

Yeah that's actually a great comparison.

And then some people think he's wooden. These are the people that base their opinion on whatever 30 secs they remember. Cavill's acting is underrated.

He had good scenes with Martha and General Swanwick. And in the BVS clips, he had that great exchange with Lois.

I cannot wait to see his chemistry with the Justice League. I just wonder how heavily he'll be involved, I mean he's a founding member so, definately very heavily. But when they meet up for the first time. I wanna see, I want it, now. Like I get the feeling we're gonna see something very similar to the animated feature JL: War.

Can't wait for more Supes. Cavill is going to nail it yet again.

The adult CK's lack of character is the biggest problem with MOS for me personally and I say adult because the young CK got alot of attention, which seemed to somehow justify them ignoring the grown up CK.
Clark looked moody and sad, wondering aimlessly with little purpose in life because Goyer, Snyder and co thought somehow that would make him "relatable" and interesting but it actually hurt the final product IMO.
Clark can be dark and conflicted but that doesn't mean that one has to suck all the charisma out of the character. In birthright CK had lots of internal conflict but he was still a charismatic optimist with a sense of satisfaction and purpose in what he's doing.
I think the general audience tend to forgive anything as long as they walk out of the theater liking the protagonist and sadly with MOS there was nothing to like about Clark IMO but hopefully they can rectify that with BvS.

Though it flopped (understandably so since it had one pretty big flaw, un compelling villains) UNCLE showed that Cavs has charisma to spare. Thing is, given the idea of what the presentation of Superman's story in MOS, they wanted to show the audience that the reality of such a person's life (orphan, weight of the world responsibility, unknown origin, unsure of the reaction to his true nature) would actually not be sunshine and lollipops. Such a person, if you are treating them as a character that is in the real three dimensional world with a real inner life, could easily at the point in his life that we meet him be a tad on the somber and reserved side.

I think it was natural for fans to have wanted, even expected him as Superman to act within the wheelhouse of classic Superman the moment he gets the suit but the film makes clear to me, especially in the non-dialogue first flight sequence, that although it's true him learning about his origin as an alien has actually opened up the world and strengthened his connection with planet Earth, it's still not clear exactly what he is going to do with his life. The idea that he was going to be a public "Superhero" I don't think we can assume was in his mind. Strange as it seems to some, I oddly feel we don't really see "Superman" until Clark enters the Daily Planet building in his classic glasses and suit "disguise" as the unassuming new reporter and we get that knowing yet radiant smile from Henry.

Facken armchair thespians I tells ya. People saying Cavill was wooden are way off the mark. There's A LOT more to acting than remembering and delivering lines. Sometimes a facial expression says more than a moutful of words.

That is very true, it's like that moment when Lois says she will go with Faora onto the ship, Clark's face (although he does mouth the word no every so subtly) is perfect. I think there was supposed to be abit more dialogue in there with Clark telling Faora that Lois wasn't going with her but the way they did it worked for the better IMO. There are a ton of moments like that in MOS aswell as some great dialogue moments.

I massively agree with you and that is the point of the film. It's about his journey getting to that point. Infact David Goyer said as much on the Empire podcast back when MOS was released. They they did a spoiler podcast on the film which was followed by interviews with Zack and Goyer. If you (or anyone else) haven't listened to that I'd seek it out.
