Any of you have that one friend who keeps telling the same joke he heard from someone else years ago? He keeps repeating it bc he got a great response from it the first time. He still thinks it's hilarious and thinks you do too but you hate it and want to tell him it's a really freaking stupid joke but you don't want to hurt his feeling bc he's really happy when he tells it?

girls are more materialistic i suppose. :D

I apologise for finding it funny..... :o (just in case).

"Who's your favourite?"

"Batman!"

*neck snap*

Damn it Henry, they're kids!!!

lol. ya perhaps he should pick up some roles like assassin or psychopath.

The boys were with Superman and the girls liked Batman. And did one of those kids say they liked The Phoenix? Heck yeah baby! She's my favorite.

I think with Superman, it's more of a power fantasy, while with Batman, it's more of a character study. At least from a kid's perspective :gngl:

Looking over the images that we've gotten in recent weeks, Warner Bros should really release more official standalone images of Superman since they've been flooding the gates with a lot of Bat-Centric pictures.

Hopefully they'll finish marketing right before the opening with a flood of Superman stuff. Now is a smart move to bring in more Batman, especially with all the praise Afflecks Batman is getting, it's "new" in a sense because of this new version of Batman.

Yeah but no one likes Superman, remember? They only included him in this movie so they can kill him and never have to deal with him again. :cwink:

The smolder in the third is too strong to be creepy. I'll let him hide the truffle in the cabbage patch. ;)

well, batman has 2 suits, superman only has one... that's why...

not to kill.
but to be kicked and beaten around. and at the end, batman rescues him and saves the day. ;)

I actually agreeing this, it's been very noticeable.

IF anything, I feel like Henry is suffering from the same thing that Chris Hemsworth suffers from whenever he's in a MCU film with Tom Hiddleston, meaning that despite everything that he brings to the table, he's overlooked in a favor of a character that has a larger following.

Plus, when you hear about how those who have supposedly seen it or know some of the higher ups that have seen it and how they're only raving about either Ben or Gal's performances, it leaves much to be desired on what people thought about Henry's performance as Superman in this film.

Poor promotion of Superman material aside, I'll honestly be happy with this film if:

1. Superman doesn't die at the end.

2. Superman plays a major role in defeating Doomsday

3. Superman doesn't lose to Batman (I personally want the fight to end in a tie)

4. It doesn't feel obvious and noticeable that Batman got much more screen time.

I wanted to bring up the issue of the lack of Superman photos and info in comparison to Batgod as well, however whenever I bring up the subject of Superman clearly being less favored I usually just get people calling everyone a whiney, insecure superman fan, so I no longer bother. However since others have also brought it up I'll just say that considering this movie is Batman stepping into Superman's world set up in MOS Superman barely seems to be a focus of the marketing.

They are fair points.

I think the above two points are a lock. I think the fight will probably be a tie as well. It has to be done tastefully because each fan base wants to have pride in their hero. I'd day Supes regains his strength and decides not to fight, perhaps. With Batman standing down as well, and maybe Lois convincing the pair to stop antagonizing each other.

As for Superman's screen time, I think Batman will just shade him, but I think that's due to him being introduced into the new universe. Supes should get some great scenes. I'm looking forward to the Day of the Dead sequence particularly.

Agreed. Granted, I don't think any of us want to venture down the territory that Tobias has fallen into.lol

But it's been very noticeable that Superman has taken a backseat to Batman when it comes to the marketing of this film.

Now I know Warner Bros really wants to establish on how this is a NEW Batman and all, but they shouldn't neglect Superman either.

And people using the whole "Well Superman just had his own solo film" excuse really doesn't hold up. News Flash, Batman just had a huge and successful trilogy, via Nolan. The character had been revived by Nolan and Bale.

Superman is still the character that needs to be fleshed out more and being in a film that divided fans and audiences doesn't really help.

We've had Snyder, Cavill, and Affleck saying on how this is neither a Superman or Batman film, but with the way most of the trailers/TV Spots have been edited, along with how the promotion has been like, you'd think that it was a Batman film starring Superman.

I honestly have no problem, as a Superman fan, if the film starts out with a little bit more focus on Batman, especially since we have to establish him as the major player that he'll be in the growing DCEU. But as the film progresses, I want their screen time to be evened out, similar to how Captain America's and Iron Man's Screen time were like in "The Avengers".

I'm also looking forward to the Senate Hearing Scene involving Superman since that seems to be the one guaranteed sequence that we'll get a lot of attention on Superman and his own arc without Batman's involvement.

The only thing I will say in defence to Batman taking more of the market side is he is the new character in this universe along with the new actor. If you go back to the Dark Knight release there was so much more Joker stuff than Batman and I think it was for the same reason. I think though Herolee you contradicted yourself a little on your post. The Nolan trilogy was a different Batman and you even said yourself that this is a new Batman. So they really do need to sell it so people let go of their attachment to the Nolan-Bale Batman.

Aslong as the film delivers the points you made (which I think it will) and is good then I think we'll be fine. I actually think some of us might be surprised at how well Superman is going to come out of BvS.

Also when we hit JL you watch the the the spotlight shift to Aquman, Flash and Cyborg. Also anyone else whose involved i.e the villain(s).

It doesn't matter though BH/HHH if it's a new Batman or not. The point is Batman has dominated the movies for the past 10 years because of Nolan. Batman as a character has had his time to shine. Why can't Superman have his time to be fleshed out and made relevant again?. Because of the Nolan movies general audiences now also love Batman, so they'll be interested no matter the version of Batman they get. No need for WB to have to prove anything with this film. The only character they have never gotten right and really need to is Superman. Give him his due.

I think they're trying to bring the marketing focus right back on to Batman and Superman so it makes sense especially since Batman isn't established in the world yet and 95% of viewers are thinking, oh Bale's back again?
