If this isn't the best superman movie ever made. I don't know what is.
I wonder will there ever be a good enough superman movie 4 you guys.
If they go for the conversational, safe n typical route, the complain will still be if not more. Superman is so Boring, plain n stupid.

And all the color ... lol. Beautiful pic Miss Lois.

Thankfully the Graham Norton Show doesn't have the 'desaturate' filter as a default feature :woot:

Apologies if this has been previously posted, but I think this is a great example of how HC has learned to deal with the red carpets/media junkets. He just seems so much more relaxed this time around.

A superman film where Superman acts like Superman would be a nice start

Aha, but which Superman? The SuperMAN, where Clark is a real person with genuine problems and a human personality? The SUPERman, where the alien heritage is so much stronger that he does come off as something radically different?

I'm still convinced there's a very real schism in what people view as the real Superman. Batman fans can still get argumentative, but tend to be more nitpicky. Superman fans...I can find someone who feels that Superman should have no limits, then someone else who insists that a Superman without limits is that boring archetype he gets accused of being by laymen, you've got Tarantino arguing that Clark Kent is a facade designed to comment on humanity, and you've got three TV shows based off the premise that Clark is real and Superman is the disguise.

I'll agree that Superman has yet to have a "perfect" Superman movie; all of his films have some kind of flaw or misexecuted moment that keeps them from reaching the equilibrium people expect f the character.

F*** it, let Henry write his own lines next time if these idiots can't come up with good material for him. I could actually see something like this line working great in a JL film.

Superman: You know what Bruce? You're biggest problem is your attitude. And do you know what my biggest problem is? Your attitude.

Henry actually describes how the fight happens in the movie right there.

I suspect if he smiled more and was warmer, all manner of sins would be forgiven.

lol I know right. Poor Henry. So much charisma and talent and he gets told to do squat.

If he didn't let bombs[BLACKOUT] go off and stand sulking in the flames instead of checking on others in the vicinity of the explosion that would be great too[/BLACKOUT]

And this one at the Mexican premiere...I do think that the bromance is for real, they spark really well off each other. Imo whatever flaws the films may have, the casting has been absolutely perfect.

That shot of him just chillin in the burning corps' was weird.

"Goddammit, forgot to turn on the oven timer again" is literally the first thought that came to mind when I saw it.

Really, really hard not to love this guy. :woot:

He could be an incredible Superman. Every time I see an interview with this guy he oozes the type of charm that would be perfect for Superman.

Indeed. He wouldn't even have to try. Just put the suit on him and film it.

We'll get there in the next entry, I imagine.

Still, I've loved Cavill's depiction of Superman thus far and it was hard not to root for him in BvS, especially given all the skepticism he was facing.

With JL said to be a lighter toned project than BvS, that should automatically translate to Superman. He shouldn't feel as burdened anymore, largely because he has a lot more people's respect now.

I hope that's true. And I get that he doesn't exactly have a lot of reasons to smile in his first two movies, but the thing is that they could have worked in scenes where he was allowed to show his charm. The whole ton of the movie doesn't have to change to show that Superman has a good personality and a natural charisma.

Superman inspired the Dark Knight to be a better man in BvS and Bruce is going to owe it to him to honor him.

That's not playing second fiddle. In the slightest. What if it was the other way around with Superman wanting to do nothing but honor Batman? Fans would crap a brick.

The speech Bruce gives at the end of the movie about the world is essentially about him as well, he wants to redeem himself, which also means he realizes how dark he himself had become. No one seems to talk about that.

Gotta be cautious with expectation... The guys driving this clown car are crazy enough to have Superman sit out JL until near the end..one film for birth, 2nd is death, and finally 3rd for resurrection... The sooner I see some Superman JL footage the better i will feel

I would say a Superman movie where Superman isn't punked for 90% of the movie to build up the shiny new toy, and who does a little more in combat than be thrown all around the place would be a start. I didn't hate this movie, but I did hate the treatment of Superman. At least in Man of Steel, Superman felt like the most powerful hero in the world. Here, they say it a lot, but for the most powerful man in the world, he sure does little more than get pwned.

Seriously. It's like he's just there to be everyone's literal or figurative punching bag.
