Preview of Henry, Amy and Ben on tonight's Graham Norton show :yay:

I never gave a full review, I'm still scattering all my thoughts, but if there was anything that I was pleasantly surprised with, it was their relationship. The chemistry was ballin' with these two. [BLACKOUT] The balcony scene was a highlight. The dialog was up to par. Even calling her "Lo" was really nice to hear. [/BLACKOUT]
I actually didn't like the dialogue there. It didn't do it for me, especially in the context. It almost felt like a MoS rewind. But I loved the way they interacted there and the rest of the film and did feel it when [BLACKOUT]she saw the ring[/BLACKOUT].

It's jolting and electric when you see a post on here where you disagree with every single word another person typed haha. So fascinating to see everything as the complete and total opposite..and I'm a Superman fan lol.

I'm so pleased my humble post jolted and electrified you. It's a lot more than I got out of watching Cavill turn the screen to wood :cwink:

Henry is doing a fine job!

Respectfully disagree. But I don't blame him entirely. The woeful direction and writing is also to blame.

The only moment I felt Henry giving a terrible acting was when he was floating away from that cab. He made me cringe.

I like Henry a lot. When give the right material in those moments he shines. They just want him to do all the wrong things the vast majority of the time imo.

I feel for Henry because I think he understands the character better than Snyder but unfortunately is not able to override him. If Henry had say Affleck's level of star power I think we'd be getting a very different Superman.

I was genuinely astonished at how charming and charismatic he was in Man From Uncle.

Ugh.

I see that like with MOS a nice bunch of the criticism that is being leveled at the film is stuff that plain didn't actually happen in the movie or is hyperbolically given the most extreme and negative spin possible. Such is fanboy.

You mean like Superman flying a dude through numerous walls at 100+ mph, and we're somehow supposed to buy that he didn't die? And this is a character who has previously killed without ever directly addressing it before or since?
Him doing this in the first scene is either a deliberate F you to the critics who were mad about Superman killing last time, or just overly-indulgent, poorly thought out film making. He could've flown over and grabbed the gun, or flew Lois away, but no, we're gonna tear the guy through the wall because it'll look awesome.
Such is Snyder.
Funny thing is I can all but guarantee you the people insisting the terrorist lived are the same people who adamantly defended the decision to have him kill Zod.

Cavill was great, his role in the film was not...
His indifference conveyed Dr. Manhattan more than anything else..
the few moments of "warmth" were amazing... the affection and smile he gave Lois towards the end of the final battle was great....
Damn shame that in a battle of ideologies (at least the first half of the film) Superman doesnt get to present his view.

So we're pretending he killed that terrorist now, even though he clearly says he didn't kill anyone and the film shows Superman flying through the walls first with the guy in tow? Wow.

"I don't have the imagination to accept that", much?

Did he really fly through the wall first? I really need to pay more attention when I watch that again tomorrow. I'm hoping you're right.

Even so, I don't think the guy is dead. At most, REALLY messed up.

you saw him fly through first? It happened so fast

Superman flew with him, he didn't pushed him through 2 brick walls.

To be fair, Snyder said that this entire sequence is COMPLETELY different in the extended cut that'll be released on BluRay. He made it sound as if there's a whole lot more to this actual scene than what was shown in the theatrical cut.

Hell, he just had an interview where he just revealed that the photographer that was executed and working for the CIA was Jimmy Olsen! Yes, Snyder killed off Jimmy.

By the sounds of things the Africa sequence seems to have been butchered for the sake of time.

They really should have cut the Knightmare instead.

Somewhere in Henry is a good actor that we will unfortunately never see under Zack Snyder.

Do you think a human body could smash through all those walls like that? It's Superman. I can't remember where, but he's done that in the comics.

The film has genuine flaws that deserve critique yet people are blatantly ignoring stuff or making leaps in logic.

Almost all of the film suffers from being cut to short. Just about every scene needs another beat or two. I feel for Terrio and the cast, cause because I don't think the final cut reflects what they intended.

hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to perservere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles. by chris reeve.

i think the movie has presented the above excellently.
superman / clark was being challenged to his limit physically and emotionally.

best superman movie ever.

The Graham Norton interview with Henry, Ben and Amy has been hilarious

I can't believe how Superman was treated here. I feel it's a regression from his introspective self in MoS. Can't believe what a let down the senate scene was.

So will this film damage Henry's career?
