If JL focuses on bringing him back, then I'm excited to think of the possibilities of execution. It tells me he's going to have a presence within the JL and that he's important. Plus, when they work hard to bring him back means a new saga is about to begin, which means new circumstances and ultimately, another solo film.

If we get that? Then yes, please.

Yes, and again, I am not asking that everything be tied up with a nice neat bow. I am asking the finale be appropriately constructed to address the major themes of the film.

The best endings are uncertain, but an uncertain ending can still be satisfying. The best comic book stories are the ones that are complete in their message about the idea or theme they revolve around, but do not leave it definitively settled for the sake of future stories. That is an uncertain, but satisfying ending.

The ending of this film, insofar as it addressed it's major themes, was not, for me, uncertain: it was incomplete.

If we have different expectations of these films given the nature of their serial format, that's fine, but does not change my experience.
 
Cavill is completely wasted. I said after MoS that Cavill has a great smile and we need to see it more.

But he barely gets a chance to. Snyder seems adamant to make Superman cool and edgy by having him totally conflicted and burdened by his responsibilities.

Superman shouldn't treat his responsibilities as a ****ing burden. He should be proud of them and should always be hopeful... instead of resentful and cynical

Eh. I agree and disagree.
I think it's cool that Snyder wants to show Superman having the weight of the world on his shoulders. But at the same time, that doesn't mean Superman should be stoic and burdened 24/7. There needs to be a happy medium.

I kinda agree with him. It's far more interesting than just have them all together from the start "Hey, here we are all 7 of us. I don't know who you people are, but let's fight something together". I personally can't wait to see what they have in store for us. It looks like it will be some adventure-type movie.

I'm just concerned there won't be much Superman screentime. But I could be letting the author's comparison to the force awakens scare me.

But Snyder's statement of "when he comes back, who knows who he'll be?" Should worry any Supes fan.

I think it sounds great. Though a huge Superman fan, I can still feel the importance he is going to have on the league. As a Justice League story, to see them coming together to resurrect Supes could he a powerful concept that highlights the rest of the JL as well. I have zero problem with it if it means the best storytelling and they have a triumphant Superman return that leads into another solo and JL2.

That's not my issue. I don't care who who forms the league. My issue is worry over how much Supes will be present and what his characterization will be.

Who knows, he could be referring to anything. Maybe he's way more powerful than ever; showing off All Star Superman levels of strength. There's really not much to read into right now.

He's just played second fiddle to Batman in BvS so we knew it would happen anyway. You can also bet Superman's big return will be extremely underwhelming, Snyder doesn't know how to build suspense for big moments like that, nor does he really care about Superman.

Still can't believe that fraud is getting the chance to make the first live action JL film, what a train wreck that will likely be.
 
I think Batman leading the Justice League is like Wolverine leading the X-Men. Not a fan of that idea.

I wouldn't mind if he tries (without Superman he doesn't have much choice) but I think Justice League should present it as Batman being out of his element because that is pretty much what it is. Ordering Aquaman and The Flash around is not the same thing as ordering Robin around, these people are not sidekicks they are superheroes with their own cities and stories and they are used to being individuals. They need to be INSPIRED into following someone, and Batman can't be that person. Ultimately the League should not truly come together until Superman comes back, he should be the missing piece of the puzzle. If that is where Snyder is going with it then I have no issues.
 
Anyone thinking in Justice League Part One that Superman [blackout]will initially be return as a villain[/blackout]? I mean...there has to be a point to the Knightmare and what [blackout]Future Flash tells Batman about Lois being the key and that Batman was right about "him" (presumably Superman).[/blackout]

****, so much for the whole "There can be No Justice League without Superman" statement.

Snyder is so full of...Mythological ********. I wish someone would smack his dumbass face to knock some sense into him.

So I guess this means that we're ****ed guys. Any chances that we had of Superman actually playing an active role in the role of the JL is forever gone. He won't be a founding member but just a future member that was found by the already formed JL.

I so ****ing knew that BvS was going to be the last film to use Superman good.

You know what, I give up on the DCEU.
 
Superman inspired the Dark Knight to be a better man in BvS and Bruce is going to owe it to him to honor him.

That's not playing second fiddle. In the slightest. What if it was the other way around with Superman wanting to do nothing but honor Batman? Fans would crap a brick.

They will more than likely do it how the MCU does with Iron Man. Captain America is the leader but Iron Man still gets more of the spotlight. With Batman, this was inevitable. It's Batman.
 
Batman may assemble the JL, but Snyder throws hints that the JL is going to be missing something that forces them to align with a common purpose. They may not be able to handle what's thrown at them at first. Supes is going to be the missing link and he could be the heart of the League in the end.

Snyder's concept art had Supes in front.
 
He didn't say who knows who he is though, he said what he is. That's slightly alarming.

Superman being an Founding Member of JL > Superman inspiring Batman

This is just ********. And yeah, this doesn't bode well for Superman's ****ing screen time either. Look what happened to Luke Skywalker, who while the main focus of everyone's thoughts in TFA, was only in the film for less than a ****ing minute.

And of course, Snyder had to say that who knows what Superman will return like.

Snyder can kiss my ****ing ass already. I don't give a **** anymore about superman on film. He ****ing killed it.
