When Civil War comes out, I'm going to migrate there. I think I'm just going to become a full fledged member of the MCU films. No more DC films or materials (aside from The Flash and LOT) for me from now on.

I'm already at that point where I've just given up on this. So much potential, flushed down the toilet.

Snyder may as well have said the same thing to Superman that Superman did to Batman upon their first encounter:

"Neck time fans call for your name towards the sky, don't go to it. The Superman is dead. Buried. Consider BvS Mercy".
???
i thought you enjoy / like BvS???
the negative critics review has really affected you deeply.

why the panic when JL not even shot???

Herolee- don't panic yet...wait at least until JL. I know I'm giving it till then before I start acting like Henny Penny.

The irony about this is that there may not even be a JL film out next year.

Unless Snyder pulls out a miracle from his mythological ass, this film is going to have a hard time making 1 billion dollars at the BO.

And what's worse is that Snyder left Superman and Lois in such a delicate situation at the end of BvS that the next director could end up making things worse if Snyder's fired.

Just look at X2 and X3. Singer had planned on doing something big with Scott Summers and Jean Grey after X2 for X3 but once he left for SR, Bret Ratner came in and that went all out the window.

You are what people call bandwagon fan. It's like sports team that are good and the fake fans join in only during the good times and when they do bad they jump ship. True fan stays with their team through hard times. This is only the second movie in the DCEU and you're already jumping ship to join Marvel bandwagon? Imagine when the Marvel MCU is ready for reboot. Fans of the current genre will do what is happening with Batman and Superman. It's either you are a true Superman/DC fan or a bandwagon fan only.

Because Snyder pretty much confirmed that Superman is no longer a founding member of the JL. I'm not even sure if he's going to be a member at all of the JL other than a potential part timer since they'll already be fully formed without his help or presence.

After reading the whole article instead of what someone posted earlier (which went by "snyder said he killed Supes so that Batman could be the JL leader" and had me wanting to punch him) I thought it made sense.
But looks like Batman will only start recluding them and having a hard time doing it 'cause he's not Superman :o

As long as Supes comes back and takes his place as the leader It's ok

The article actually sounds quite interesting to me. As fans, the question always was "Batman can do this and that and that's why he's much better than Superman.." this actually sounds like even though Batman is cool and so is the rest of the League, they don't have what Superman CAN do and it will be missed.

The concept makes for a great assemble.

I was fine with Superman having to share a movie with Batman but after this I really need a film that is all Supes, the character needs and deserved to be fleshed out some more.

we all do... but a solo superman movie seems not gonna happen in any near future... :(

that's why i don't like the ending, even though i love this movie.

I see it as there will definitely be atleast another Superman solo film. If JL does nothing but figuring out a way to bring him back, that means rules will change and sagas will end. Superman isn't permanently dead, guys. He will be back and that means a new arc begins. Another solo film is all but evident IMO. It just comes down to when.

A few people seem to be quite sure Cavill won't be back for JL.

What?

I simply can't resist leaving this post alone. So here you go. A gif that perfect illustrates how I feel about this ridiculousness.

you have worked out the whole JL movie, haven't you?

if superman really is minor in JL, we can just boycott the movie and not go to watch it.

why make yourself so vulnerable and depressing when things not even start, and when you know nothing about it???

the theme of BvS is indeed true. people fear of unknown... horribly...

pls go to watch BvS and enjoy again. shall we?

Nope.

As someone who just came out of lurkdom I'd hate to see people leave because of all this. Obviously we all have different opinions but we're all here because we like Superman, and/or Henry...so let's look at a nice picture of Henry...or is it really him?! :cwink:

Yeah, They're setting this up to be

JL1: The world (who has rekindled their love affair with Superman, fickle idiots:whatever:) is still mourning him, the villains rise, Batman is struggling to get the other guys to join forces. Superman finally coming back, emotional moments of his comeback, defeating the villain. Bats&Supes friendship, probably a wedding.

JL2: The league already formed, probably some tension & issues between Batman & Superman due to their alpha male status, the Injustice:GAO kind of storyline, Darkseid, etc etc.

Guys, read this EW article. Folks have been jumping on what Snyder says about why he killed Supes, but I find the other stuff he's saying far more worrisome.

Ok, I really don't like his comments. Sometimes people make blanket statements like "Zack doesn't get superman" and I disagree because he seems to get him perfectly at some points.

But quotes like this show me that he doesn't get it all the time. He's basically saying that the only way the creation of the JL can be interesting is if superman isn't there. I strongly disagree. Bruce and Clark just had a huge fight...would it not be interesting to see them coming together to assemble the league? Would it not be funny and endearing to see some of the chemistry and camaraderie Cavill and Affleck have in real life come to screen as they get to know each other? Good grief, Zack. :csad:

who is that? surely not Cavill

Second viewing from this morning showing had the audience clapping like my first showing. It was a full theater with people actually crying at the end of the movie. Even second viewing still gets me tear up. Cavill was amazing in this movie and sold that scene. You felt for him as he had the weight of the world on him and no one seems to appreciate him. Now that he's gone the world finally appreciate him. Irony that our world is the same way. We only remember and say good things about a person when they're gone. His return is going to be glories and show stopper.

I didn't get that, but I understant what he's so poorly trying to say, from a filmaker's point of view you need some tension, and since Superman is better than Batman :oldrazz:, everyone would join the team without a doubt, that's it, movie over, since we need the tension and struggle he's gonna give Batman a hard time trying to convince them.

If that's what he's really saying, then I still don't like it. Superman was at the center of controversy in BvS (and then died!). I don't see why it would be so boring for him to help form the league. There's plenty of room for tension between him and batman. I don't mind batman having a hand in creating it (and WW too, actually), but superman shouldn't be left out. In many stories, he's its leader.
