Having seen the movie 4 times now, I can officially say i'm no longer on the side of Superman being treated badly whatsoever. When

Superman realises that he's the only one that can kill Doomsday and as a result possibly die himself in the process, and he turns to Lois and says:

"I love you. This is my world,.......You are my world".

I immediately burst into tears. Not just because he dies but also because for the first time in the series, I'm seeing my Superman, I'm seeing the real Superman. Not mopey, not frowning, not sad, not indecisive. He smiled, he showed love, compassion, strength of mind. Henry Cavill acted the hell out of that scene.

If i can get that Superman in the series moving forward, i'll be happy.

For the fans that are still level headed and optimistic (somewhat) about the future, what would you guys says are actual indicators that Superman fans shouldn't worry as much about how he'll be handled in JL?

Do we, as superman fans, actually have something legitimate to look forward to post BvS?

Pls write direct to zack synder of all your worries.

That moment is wonderful, one of the true great live action Superman moments of all-time.

You know, the frustrating thing is that there were A LOT of parts that I actually enjoyed, superman wise, for this film.

Sure, I would have LOVED to have seen/heard Cavill's Clark/Superman have more lines.

But I honestly do agree with the belief that Superman's arc was the "heart" of the story in the same vein that Professor X's was in "Days of Future Past".

If anything, I'd say that Mystique=Batman (DOFP) and Professor X=Superman (DOFP).

I also loved on how we didn't get any relationship BS drama (the kind that plagued the likes of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man films and that's currently plaguing "Arrow").

It was kinda *****ey of Superman to basically smash the Batmobile and interrupt Batman while he was CHASING CRIMINALS simply to tell him to knock off all the Batman stuff..

Dude couldn't even be bothered to continue the pursuit of the truck either. Just flew off, haha.

He didn't know they were criminals, infact Batman was trying to steal something from them remember.

welcome to the sun.

hope more and more people see the light like you do. :D

Cavill is a great superman imo and did a phenomenal job in this film.

Hi, a new poster here. I hope this is the right place to come for a Superman fan, right?

I used to think Superman was such a boring character. That the other 'down to earth' superheroes were way more cooler. MOS changed my perception completely. I liked the character enough to seek out Superman comics and after reading a few great ones I could say I'd become a fan of the character.

Before watching BvS I accidently got spoiled about the ending so I was kind of prepare for what to come. But man oh man I didn't expect that scene to play out so perfectly it ripped my heart out and added a full more point to the score I gave the movie. I wasn't into the character that much the entire movie because somehow he didn't have a chance to shine but when he's given a chance he just nailed it.

It's MY SUPERMAN right there. I never felt that emotional for the death of fictional characters.

There're a lot things to love in the movie (and a lot to hate too) but Superman arc was the highlight of the movie for me. Without his arc this movie would have no heart and no soul.

I hope I'm not alone because I feel there's so much love for Batfleck and WW and not enough for the guy in a coffin.

Only,
Superman didn't have to sacrifice himself there. With his super intellect, or just basic intellect, he could have given WW the spear.

Wonder Woman who was restraining Doomsday with the lasso? Ok then :whatever:

Np. And that's my issue really.

What ends up happening for Superman in JL has ALWAYS been my biggest concern.

At this point, if Superman is being prepped to be used terribly in JL, I would rather prefer that his character
just stay dead

And Idk why people keep assuming that my issues are solely BvS related. My issues are RELATED EXCLUSIVELY TO JL.

And the fact of the matter is, Snyder keeps confirming and burying himself further in his own ******* whenever he brings up on how he plans on using Superman.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't Snyder just confirm that Superman isn't part of the JL lineup?

How are people not reacting badly about it? Am I the only one the freaking cares?

After reading your posts I felt so relieved that I wasn't the only one who lost my sh** and went full paranoid after reading Zack Snyder's EW interview.

The death funeral scenes got me very emotional but I didn't shed a tear because I thought they were beautifully done plus I had all the hope in the world that his return in JL would be even more heroic.

Reading his interview made me realised Supes death was just an easy way for Zack to get him out of the way so his pet Batman can be THE MAN of the JL. It took away all the hope and positivity I felt about BvS.
I can see that people here have tried to convince you to stay positive and that's a good thing. I'm in the same boat as yours, unfortunately.

You meant any guys could just use her lasso? I don't think it works that way. If that's the case she should have let Batman using her lasso so he could be more useful.

My thoughts on the EW article and Snyder's comments...

I read people say he doesn't get Superman and I read that and think they could not be more wrong. To many people took that comment that he wants Superman out the way simply because he doesn't like him (he clearly does he's done two fracking movies about him). He's saying with Superman there the league forms to easily/quickly, without him it's a struggle for Batman to find all these guys. JL will have Batman assembling the team but it will also have Superman lead them toward the Sun. Given Terrio said MOS, BvS and JLP1 are a trilogy it's obvious he will be back fully in the film at a certain point to inspire the team.

If you want the real reason Superman didn't give Wonder Woman the spear, It's because that's what Superman does. He takes the brunt of the responsibility. If he'd given the spear to Wondy, she too, may have been impaled or hurt in some way and that's not what the real Superman does. As he said to Lois, "This is my world", therefor he is at that moment taking the responsibility. That's why Superman has been and always will be the greatest Superhero ever created. You may not relate to him, but you can't not respect him.

At one point I was wondering if "Superman was never real" and Lois was imagining him like John Nash in a beautiful mind. Only because he only really talks to Lois and it would explain why he just stands there when a bomb goes off killing a building full of people

what make you think doomsday can't kill WW?

indeed. the bone of doomsday will pierce thru WW body too. and i don't think WW will perform the final push, which will kill herself too by doing so.

Even if we're fortunate enough for Superman to not come back possessed or evil/out of his mind, there's no indication that Superman will play a major active role outside of being one of the big guns for fighting against whoever the major threat is.

Frankly, it's depressing and saddening to see Superman being robbed of his canonical heritage of being a part of the JL when it forms. What's the point of adding Superman to the lineup if the group is already functioning and gathered by the time he joins in? What's the point of having him in the middle of the group for the concept art? It's pretty much like when Wolverine and Storm robbed Cyclops of his leadership role due to Hugh's and Hallie's higher star status.

@Andreth: Did Amy really confirm that she's also coming back for JL2?

So I take it you ha

Because she handled him really well while Superman got his ass kicked?

the same will happen to her. when she stabbed on doomsday, doomsday will stab her too. do you think she will make the further push, sacrifice herself like superman did?
