You guys are seriously nitpicking with the hair and brighter colors. I think the first pic is better.

I agree - it's a bit too 'peachy' for my liking, though it is a good manip. I def think they can tone down how muted it is but I don't think this Superman universe suits anything TOO light and bright. Maybe there's a happy medium!

Also have to say I prefer his hair in the original too, I just don't think Superman looks right with short-short hair. Although Cav-El looks spectacular with a buzzcut, maybe they could find a way to introduce that somehow!

Best suit and best supes ever.:hrt:

Also, that was a great scene in the movie.

Didn't they say Superman will have a shorter hair cut?

I hope we get this:

Yeah I actually like longer hair on Sups. Then again I was a proponent of the 90 era long hair on everyone craze.

This is when he looked the most awesome IMO.

I like that too. I've always seen Supes as a Hercules/Chosen one type, and this long flowing hair kind of adds to that...If anyone gets what I mean. He looks more like lost royalty.

I'd also add that his hair should be combed and slicked when Clark Kent, but he should let it be loose and natural like this pic when he's Superman.

He looks very nice like that, but I liked the longer hair. I think longer hair will help him sell Clark better. I like his longer hair as Clark Kent.

Speaking of the bar scene, how cool would it have been, if clark instead of walking away from the drunk, grabbed him by his shirt and though him out like a bouncer would? Then he leaves the area.

"Too gritty for Superman to do!!!!!! Too gritty, too dark, too GRITTYGRITTYGRITTY! Wahwahwah..."

I'm hoping Superman is more like this in Batman V Superman

to be fair they are inside a bunker, possibly underground so any natural lighting will be impossible. the "dark" color at least in this scene makes sense.

Too bright. I don't know why people want him to look so silly. The muted colors are more mature, and pretty.
It's somber, if anything. I hardly think a splash of saturation would give it anywhere near the sort of comic book pop Avengers had.

Eh. I love the darker colors. Pretty and mature, as opposed to playful and silly. And don't get me started on Avengers.

I would say there's a very wide color spectrum, and they'd have to do a complete 180 to suddenly present itself as fun/light as Marvel's properties.

It would be a mistake to attribute lack of color as mature.

Marvel wasn't fun and light. It was tacky. Which fit the film to a tee, unfortunately.

The only mistake around here is the idea that bright colors would make Superman better. He already looks silly in his costume. There's no need to make him look more foolish.

No. Superman's colors should look vibrant. His colors are primary colors. As much as I loved Man of Steel, I wish they would have NOT muted the colors. The suit looks MUCH better in its natural shade.

I don't really feel that colors are the major contributor to a light or fluffy tone. The story/script and performances are what make the film serious/dramatic or light. Colors can be used to simply make the film beautiful looking.

Why do you think the brighter color makes me look silly? I think it adds more a dynamic to him because things around him look brighter. You can't make Superman dull, so that means you have to up at the surroundings a bit. Dulling it while maybe being more mature doesn't fit the character.

The world I walk around in isn't so drab looking. Superman's suit looks better in natural light. The key word being natural.
