But there are plenty of good American actors so it seem superfluous to cast outside of nationality when it is so ingrained into the characters history and origins. It would be disrespectful IMO.

Were you ok with Cavill playing Superman? He's from the Channel Islands and Supes is thought of as American.

Superman is an alien so as long as he looks visually like the character it matters not. Much like Diana one would say that she needs to look Grecian but she doesn't either if they use the classic clay origin she can be any nationality or background as long as she visually looks like the character.

Steel City Comic Con is going on in Pittsburgh right now, about 40 minutes away from me. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it and Jerry Ordway is a special guest artist today drawing Superman, along with legendary artist Neal Adams. Greg Horn is also there, who drew one of my favorite Superman images. Kinda PO'ED I'm missing it.

I love Evans as Cap and Cavill as Supes! Best two castings in current superhero films IMO. I can't see Evans as Supes, but I think Cavill could have been awesome as Cap!

Hemsworth as Thor?

RDJ as Iron Man?

Jackman as Wolverine?

SLJ as Nick Fury?

Hiddleston as Loki?

Fassbender as Magneto?

The casting has been very good in superhero films. The last major miscast I can remember is with Superman Returns.

Yeah I never understood why people liked him in the role. He was just kind of meh... I really enjoyed Cavills look and performance though. Can't wait for BvsS.

Yeah Bosworth was a casting moment but I can't blame Singer for it due to Spacey trying to make her "happen" no matter how not right for the roles she was. She looked so out of place in that film much like Jessica Alba in FF.
