here its easier to see how they also changed the lines on the side.

idk if anyones noticed but look at his right leg, there also seem to be a lot more piping on the leg this time around, as spaced out as it may be

Yeah, it really was an eyesore. And that angle and ridiculous pose Routh is doing make it look even worse. Seriously, he looks like he's pulling his big boy pants up. I still can't fathom how Singer and company took a look at that picture and said, "That's it! Release this one first! It'll get the fans really pumped for this movie!"

It looks so wrong in so many levels

-the cape attachment, they just tucked the cape under a shirt
- the small 3d S symbol, it just looks wrong
- the leather cape and the red colors, it just idiotic. How can you make a superman suit and screw the color red??
- there is no texture over the blue tones, it makes it look fake as well
- the belt is just like design flaw 101, dont repeat the same symbol twice and smaller, it distracts the audience
- those briefs are just awful, too short
- the boots are probably the only thing i could live with but still they look way to heavy and military like for superman

Poor Routh, he was actually quite big for the movie but that costume and all the make up they put on him to make him look like a ken doll really screwed all his work and took all the masculinity out of superman.

i remember all the stupid gay rumors before SR (not that there's anything wrong with it), but i dont think i even heard one about Cavill and MOS.

Oh that is just delicious.

I noticed. But there's not enough clarity to make it out so I didn't say anything.

Edit: - the Routh suit -

Almost anything ugly looks better in motion, because motion disrupts the detailed perception of flaws. All the same, I don't really think it looked much better in the movie.

So...they basically did exactly what I didn't want them to do, which was make unnecessary changes that, in my opinion, harm the overall aesthetic in comparison to the original.

The new cape attachment is definitely inferior. It looks like he stapled the cape onto the bodysuit. I also miss the original neckline.

It looks like they added to the side and wrist detailing, or perhaps spaced it out more, which both looks inferior to how it was done in MOS and somehow makes Superman's suit look sinister.

The "button" on the abdomen is now a square. Why?

I don't like the size of the new shield. This one is more of a nitpick than an actual complaint.

So...yeah. Not the worst suit I've ever seen, but definitely inferior to the one that came before it.

Also: I really hope the movie as a whole doesn't match the aesthetic of that image, because it doesn't look good.

:yay:

To me, looking at the full high-res version of the image, it looks like it's attached pretty much exactly the same way as it was in MoS (it's possible the angle might be *slightly* different, but if it is, it's not by much)

Oh yeah they did it on this one too, I see what you did there. Still its not the same shape, its a square and not the S shield but still i wouldn't have done that , i prefer the oval shape, even more noticeable.

In the movie you could barley see any separation between the lower and upper half of the suit

I am... so friggin' impressed. It's precisely what I had hoped for when they describing "tweaking" the costume. Minor changes that the general audience will probably not register, and even to diehards like us, they're subtle. Loving the little changes, and Cavill himself looks even more matured and massive.

Gotham has a new hero....... Superman!! :super:

:oldrazz:

Man of Steel was all about Superman finding his place in the world as both a hero and as a man, ultimately saving the city of Metropolis from certain doom. Dawn of Justice continues to immerse him on Earth by working at the Daily Planet as Clark Kent along with Lois Lane (Amy Adams) and Perry White (Laurence Fishburne). But it also takes him to new environments such as Gotham City and introduces larger threats, including Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg).

Who said it wasn't a MOS sequel? ;)

Henry is giving his best 'Derek Zoolander Blue Steel' :woot:
Grave is not a troll. She got fired by Marvel and instead of acting like a proper subjective journalist she keeps drooling over their properties hoping they get her back. I am convinced of this. She is well known for not being a "good" reviewer and for disliking universally beloved films for very unreasonable reasons. She is the only person in the world that can like Transformers 4 and dislike Pacific Rim for the same reasons.

Her reviews sometimes make no sense and I don't think she is very observant. She also seems regularly to misunderstand or miss things in the movies she reviews which isn't a good trait for a reviewer.

Is it confirmed that the movie takes place two years after MoS? What were Lex and Batman doing all this time? Seems like a big jump forward for no reason.

No, that was never confirmed. Just a rumor.

I think it was Comicbook.com that stated that, so I'm not too sure about the validity of that rumor.
