I'm sorry to say this but I just checked out some threads from the few people posting here wondering why the hulk movie failed.
Some are even claiming that it was a great movie as it is.
Though you have every right to love the movie as it is, please don't ruin it for the rest of us who would love nothing more than to see the REAL Hulk on the big screen.
The Hulk movie failed because of several reasons.
the biggest most obvious is that it deviated too much from the comics.
by;
1) changing the Hulk Origin into a slow boring psychological crap
2)Changing the Hulk by making him a 15 foot (mighty joE young) monster
3)by alienating long time Hulk fans with these changes

it seems that FINALLY Hollywood and Avi Arad have learned a lesson,..please let them.
don't make it any more confusing for them.

let them STICK TO THE COMICS AS CLOSELY AS POSSIBLE!

Ok HoratioRome, take you pills now and go to sleep tiny dancer.

Some change has to be done when translating comics or novels to the big screen in order to accomodate the flashier big spectacles that audiences expect from Hollywood blockbusters.

Real spandex in the X-Men films would've looked silly on the actors, same as the Batman suit being all rubber, there are exeptions such as the Superman films.

I'm fine with a few minor changes such as Banner's father being an absorbing man but I'm not fond of the Joker killing Batman's parents.

who is this?
dragon? spider-something? golly, u sound familar

Lol, I don't know if you've ever read a Hulk comic Horatio, but Bruce Banner is NOT what I would call psychologically stable. It's his father's fault. Bruce hate's his father. In the movie, the two end up hating each other. I see a couple of parallels there...

STICK TO THE COMICS AS CLOSELY AS POSSIBLE!

no one is forcing you to watch the films, if you dont like em stick to your comics and don't watch em...

I agree.
Whats sad is there are sooo many Great hulk stories they could have easily adapted instead of doing this screenplay.
I give them an A for effort. Ang Lee puts his heart into everything he does, but they got it all wrong(as far as what makes the books great).
I think a great sequel however told like it is in the comics (cross country fugitive, not Hulk hoping around looking at canyons and daisys) could redeem the series and get people excited again.
This movie seems to speak to a lot of people though, so I'm starting to accept their opinions. ;)
Although i will say any argument I've had seems to end when I bring up storys from the books and history of the characters. But who cares, it's about personal enjoyment at the end of the day.

How about you don't ruin the sequel? :down

The Next Hulk Movie wether it is Sequel or Re Start will obviously be Studio Controlled. Unless they find a Director they really like you know how it is going to go down.

hey the big muscular hulk beats the old puny ***** hulk!! fyi he's like that in the comics!!:hulk: :hulk:

This is true. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Hulk's comic origin is pretty much broken.

Anyway I don't see how Hulk movie fans could possibly ruin the sequel. By expressing their opinions??

^ I agree

go watch your fantastic four and leave hulk in peace.

I get it. The few people who come here to post are mostly those who actually liked the movie.
Look, I'm not trying to offend but even the biggest supporter of this film must admit that it failed to strike a cord with audiences.
Yes it made over 100 million but only because the name HULK was attached to the movie. Most everyone thinks the movie was a piece of crap (though some of us quite enjoyed the desert scenes).
I'm just trying to make it better. The character deserves better, and as someone said, there are so many great stories from the comics to draw from it would be a mistake to REPEAT the same mistake of NOT sticking to the comics.
Come on people aren't you HULK fans?
don't you want the movie to be as good as possible?
don't you want an exciting HULK movie a la Spider-man?

1) bulls**t everyone thought it was carp, most didnt see it yet still kept bad mouthing it, DVD sales show that alot of people liked Hulk, TV ratings were good too.

2) I'm a Hulk fan but i really dont want a Hulk film like Spiderman. They are just two VERY different characters.

3) Sticking to the comics wont help Hulk 2 much, most of the Hulk villains are just really corny. Some of the storys too. If anyone else complains about Hulk not talking much, i swear i'm going to slap that person, would you prefer Hulk acting or just talking in stupid third person and looking like a ******?

Well said Sava, this guy obviously doesnt have a freaking clue

True. The reason the desert scenes were the best scenes in the movie is because they were the most like the comic. It wasn't as obvious that the Hulk was way too big in those scenes. If only he had screamed something at the helicopters they would have been perfect scenes. (The Hulk is NOT a mute.)
