I think they need to work on one thing for future X-Films, and that's that the X-Men are a superhero team, not some sort of isolated gang, meaning, they save people and they promote peace and coexistence.
Here's what I mean: In the original DOFP comic, Past Wolverine tries to injure someone physically but Storm (leader) commands him to stop, reminding him that the X-Men don't kill unless absolutely necessary. That message is altered on film. In DOFP, you have Past Xavier (leader) trying to trick a couple of guards into leaving the kitchens in the prison break scene. Wolverine instead knocks them out violently and Xavier does not get in his way. Message: violance > diplomacy.
Another case is X2, where Stryker, Jason and possibly other staff were left behind to die at the end of the film. Of course they were running out of time, but they definitely had the chance to save a few of them on the way out.
And, sure, they saved the attendees of the UN Summit (X1) and all mutants and humans alike (X2), but there are still a few details that, in my opinion, misrepresent the team's values.
