How I Met Your Mother - Part 4

What will happen to cause the wedding to go awry?

My theory is that Ted probably has let go of Robin, but can't help but, in a ridiculous last ditch effort, try to get her the one thing she really wanted for the wedding: her mom.

Or one of Ted's infamous best man speeches where he declares his love for Robin & ruins things & maybe spills some secrets Barney didnt know while he is at it

I'm tired of the Ted/Robin stuff. Have mercy already, even if it was done fairly well tonight.
I think that was the point.

It was the "letting go" episode for the guys.

Barney let go of his single life. This is seen with the "Bro-Code" book being handed off to the next generation.
Ted let go of Robin. We see this as Ted's vision of her floating away like the balloon friend he once had.
Marshal let go of his anger and resentment over Lily's leaving him several years before. This we see when he resolves that they are not leaving New York and the real Lily comes back to him (presumably after telling the Captain she couldn't leave) telling him they were not leaving.

We saw the Mother's letting go in the previous episode as well (her break up with the boyfriend, the acceptance that she needs to move on). Lily and Robin's we have yet to see but I suspect that might be the next episode.

Oooh, I like that. How old are future Ted and mother supposed to be? They can probably still have babies, right?

He must be around 52 years old in 2030 if he was 27 in 2005. The Mother would probably be in the mid to late 40s.

Women can still have babies at that age. Might be a bit riskier then, but still can happen unless they've reached their menopause.

Cristin Milioti Tapped As Co-Lead For NBC Comedy Pilot ‘A To Z’
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

How I Met Your Mother‘s Cristin Milioti is set for a lead role in NBC comedy pilot A To Z. From Warner Bros Television, Rashida Jones and Will McCormack’s Le Train Train and writer Ben Queen, A To Z is a romantic comedy that follows the relationship between a young couple, Andrew and Zelda, from meeting to breakup. Milioti will play Zelda, “the realist,” a lawyer at a small, public-advocacy law firm. Alternately serious and hilarious, Zelda believes she controls her own destiny, loves being a grown-up and doesn’t understand why anyone over 20 would go see an animated movie or eat ice cream sundaes. Destiny and fate are not in her vocabulary. Milioti is completing HIMYM‘s ninth and final season as the mother character. On the film side, she played the role of Teresa Petrillo in Oscar-nommed The Wolf Of Wall Street. Milioti is repped by Gersh and Authentic Talent and Literary Management.
Not really surprising. I figured if anyone was going to get pilots thrown their way after the end of HIMYM, it was going to be her.

I was hoping she would be in another series after this ended. She was well cast for the role and better and different from what I was expecting.

When I first heard she'd be the mother, my first thought was, "who?" and then I saw her, still didn't recognize her but when I finally saw her acting, she was perfect. Definitely a good choice for a lead role in a comedy, although being the "serious" one I'm hoping they don't over do it.

Yeah, she needs to have a good balance so that she can also make use of her musical skills too. I hope she gets some more movie roles as well and doesn't just get stuck on TV.

Maybe they'll make a movie version of "Once" with her?

:lmao:

There's some real irony here. And it's delicious.

Maaan, she was Leo's first wife in Wolf. Missed that completely.

Interested to see how many of the primary 5 are on a show next year. I would guess you'd want a year off. Wonder if Cobie will play a more regular recurring spot on AoS.

I would love to see Josh in more things once HIMYM is finished. I haven't seen him in much other than 2 indie movies.

Alyson Hannigan To Star In CBS’ Tom Papa Pilot Produced By Ben Affleck & Matt Damon
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

With How I Met Your Mother set to tape its final episode in less than two weeks, co-star Alyson Hannigan has been tapped for another CBS multi-camera comedy. Hannigan is set as the female lead opposite Tom Papa in the network’s high-profile pilot More Time With Family, executive produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon and written/exec produced by Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith. Based on the stand-up of Papa and the experiences of Damon, More Time With Family centers on Tom (Papa), a husband and father making a career change to spend more time with his family. Hannigan will play Tom’s wife Cindy. 20th Century Fox TV is producing. APA-repped Hannigan, who is coming off two hit series back-to-back, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and HIMYM, is the first original cast member of the long-running CBS comedy series to book a pilot. Recent cast addition Cristin Milioti (aka the Mom) just landed the female lead in the NBC romantic comedy pilot A to Z.
Eh. Was hoping it would be something better-sounding.

Something tells me that this cast may suffer from that Seinfeld syndrome where post show success will be few and far in between.

Cobie's lucky she has that Maria Hill gig to get her a few more movies and guest start spots out of.

Unfortunately, I think Josh Radnor might have the least success post HIMYM. Jason Siegel has already been making his way into movies, Cristin Milioti is a rising star, NPH is a one-man entertainer, Cobie is in the MCU and Alyson is probably also still remembered for Buffy.

I think Josh might not just have Seinfeld syndrome but also Dawson's Creek syndrome. James Van Der Beek didn't really do much after the end of his show, despite being the star of it. I hope I'm wrong about Radnor though.

Looks like the females are getting roles quickly nice

Radnor will be fine. He writes and directs his own indie movies. I'm don't think he wants another mainstream sucess. But this is just speculation on my account of course.

That's really the FURTHEST thing from what I'm expecting. NPH has already shown that he can do virtually anything and everything he sets his mind to, Segel has found film success, Radnor will do more of his indie work, Hannigan will find more TV work (she did it before, after the end of a long-running show), and Cobie's a toss-up between film and TV. I'm betting TV. Nothing she's done in films would really justify her saying "Screw you guys, I've got a film career now!"

Oh, NPH and Jason Segel will be fine. Segel will stay in movies. NPH could bounce back and forth if they offer him his own show or a lot of hosting gigs. Alyson? if she doesn't get a new hit show in a year or two, She'll be on the comic con circuit for Buffy. Josh? he's unfortunately the one that will disappear or become a full time director. Cobie is really question mark. She's only supporting in the MCU. If she can manage to get a couple starring roles in romcoms She might stay in films. If not she will be in the same boat as Allison.

A pilot. And on CBS, the network with probably the least need for new shows, it could easily amount to nothing.

Just announced: The cast will do the Letterman Top Ten on Monday.

plus, it's the future (not to distant future, but, still) maybe they've made some medical advanments in that area making it safer for older women
