Transformers How much can you they change??

no. they're both from the planet cybertron, both created by the same race of alien beings. both built to disguise themselves as vehicles. autobots built to serve, decepticons built to conquer. both gain sentience, one faction goes out to battle and conquer, the other to stop them.

it really is a cool premise that so much could be done with if given the proper thought and respect. pity.
pity who?...

I'm not real big on the idea of some cliche teen romance for this movie.

Question. I know people hate cliche...but what ISN'T cliche anymore? I haven't seen too many teen relationship explorations in Transformers lore, so I don't find it's use here too cliche. Romance and relationships are a part of life...don't think it's neccessarily a bad idea to explore them in art. And obviously the teenage "romance" allows for more "more than meets the eye".

scared teens have much more to worry about when giant robots are killing people than sex

I'm fine with the teen romance aspect in general. It's more the lame guy pines after hot chick who's out of his league but secretly deep down just happens to be into the same thing as he is so during a life or death struggle they find they find that they have to so much in common and f*** whether or not they're both attractive they can still make babies later its all good. Whew

It's not quite that simple. No one said they're going to end up together.

So, because it hasn't been used much in previous Transformers stories, it's OK in the movie? How about it's cliche FOR movies to still use that, regardless of the plot?

I feel that Bay & Co. believe as long as there are robots that change into things, that they have an original voice actor from the old cartoon, and the name "Transformers" in the title, fans will line up like cattle with their money ready in hand.....and it appears as though they are right. :whatever:

Well, I can see why they're doing it. If the script is any indication this movie is Bay's "me too, me too!" answer to Spider-man just like Pearl Harbor was to Titanic. I'm not kidding... it's all there... right down to the "words of wisdom" repeatable phrase from the parent.

it's a pity that the story could have been so rich and have a strong feeling of myth behind it. but what came out was a pretty generic action story with the transformers plugged in. and that is not not really a bash on the script, i like it for what it is and plan on being entertained as hell next fourth as july. i just think there could have been more to it.

same could be said about 99% of all movies

true. but not all movies have such a cool jumping off point as the transformers mythos.

Why can't we identify with the Transformers, too?
We can, just trying to explain why humans have screen time in this movie.

You know, if there was no cliche teen romance in this movie, there would be no Megan Fox either. Does that help balance things out a bit for you??

If she were topless, but I guess Bay frowns on that type of thing.:csad:
