The Amazing Spider-Man 2 How should the Goblin look???

Oh, so because one director tried one look, any other attempt is an automatic fail? lol.

Oh, ye of little imagination. Of course there is. There are tons of previs concepts that have bandied about for years now that would work just fine on film (with a few tweaks) that maintain verisimilitude to the character while "grounding" him in the world they've established.

And if you really think about it, the character of Spider-Man looks completely ridiculous as well. So that argument is out the window.

They both look cartoony, which is why they should both have cartoony costumes. TASM 2 nailed the costume. It looks cartoony, but that's the character. GG is the same thing.

The new spidey costume is dope

Yeah, true... but really, it's no more "grounded", "realistic" or less corny than the Green Goblin's costume or Electro's costume (or whoever). Red and blue spandex with spider-webs all over it? No cheesier than Green and Yellow with lightning bolts.

We've just been desensitized to the goofiness/cheesiness (not that it's a bad thing, but let's call it what it is) over the years as it has become a classic, iconic design.

No one cares about that part because Spider-Man must wear his spandex.

Kinda cool, then again the first thing I thought of was Mystique.

I think the overall concept is cool.

Yeah, I can respect the very "organic" look they went for. At the very least, the suit looks great.

Looking at the design again....... If they were to remove or reduce the size of that (headpiece?) he's wearing; Shorten and recolor the hair a darker brown and green color (with some grays); and make his face entirely green, using the silvery skin tone just to accent it, it would be a great design for the film.

 I agree my friend. Or maybe remove the headpiece all in all. But yeah, the organic look is pleasing as well as that "skin" suit. I dig.

I still have a sick feeling that he's going to be a huge hulking Goblin. Which will be utterly disappointing...

I don't think he'll be as tall as bulky as he was in the Ultimate comics (and cartoon), but I think we'll see a transformation into a very muscular (cut), creature-esque Goblin.

Transformation. Considering Oscorp made the Lizard, it would make sense if they somehow made a refined version of the serum in the first flick... Or so they thought. Could very well end up looking like this, though I'm not keeping my fingers crossed. I really liked the direction they were going for in the original trilogy, until Dafoe insisted on that tribal ritual mask just to incorporate the whole idea of the military suit into his entire outfit.

However, I still like the design in the video below.
