Ok look, fighting between each other isn't going to solve anything. Yes, there should've been some sort of passcode that was texted to the longtime viralers so they could maybe get first dibs on tickets or some extra special swag or something. But that doesn't mean that the people who had been participating for a few days shouldn't get anything. I mean, they were still a part of it, weren't they? They were there when the puzzle was decoded and we got the website for the tickets. They were helping find the puzzle pieces, etc. weren't they? They deserve tickets as much as anyone else who participated. That was the point of the game. To get people to interact and get excited for the movie. Now I could understand being upset if someone just heard about Kickingandscreening and ran over and got a bunch of tickets, but I don't really see that happening since they were only available for maybe 5 minutes (or less). Chances are, if you got tickets, you were at least following the ARG for a few days. I mean, if you were one of the people who had been following it for a few days, and didn't have a joker phone, or never gave your phone number in, and you were watching the bomb tick, and then it finally reached 0 and said "check your joker phones for free passes! hahaha!" wouldn't you be kinda pissed? Yes, they had only been following it for a few days, but they were still following it. They were still a part of it. They should get the chance for tickets too.

Yes the longtime viralers should be awarded with something else, or maybe 42E just thinks all the swag they already got was enough. Who knows? And I think that's why the free screening was so close to the actual release of the movie, this way it wouldn't be TOO bad if they didn't get tickets

Yeah the people who were involved in the viral should have known by now that you have to be there when a timer counts down to 0. We were shown in advance that the timer counted down to 0 on thursday. If you wanted to take part in the event, you had to be there. I don't understand why people who have been here since the beginning are complaining, if there is one thing to learn from past events, it is that you have to be on the of the game all the time, and fast to get to new sites. If you were at work or couldn't get to a computer for reasons beyond your control, I'm really sorry, but that doesn't mean people who haven't been following the viral as long as you that were in front of their computers when the site opened up don't deserve a ticket. That is my opinion on the subject, I don't mean to offend anyone or start a flame war, but its kind of contradictory for someone who has followed the viral for so long to not be prepared to follow the hunt on thursday.

try looking above my avvy and see if i was or wasn't following the damn virals! as a person who religously followed the damn things AND WON would get shut out mostly cause lazy noobs came in and shut the site down, i s in my mind an epic fail to 42.we as loyal players should be getting tix first. to give to someone who came in dead last cause they saw us out near the sears tower or the ESB is pure garbage.

First off it wasnt an epic fail for 42, you epically failed. I got a ticket for AZ, which was only giving out 114, which I believe is the fewest amount of all the theatres. If you truly want i can let you know how good the actual movie is? Does that seem fair?

I didn't think of that, but thats life. People are always going to abuse the system and its really unfortunate. If you feel really passionate about the situation, then contact 42 about it, they might be able to do something about it. **** you man, not my problem that other people were too slow. I'm sorry that you don't have friends as excited about the movie as I do. You're damn right I snagged extra tickets. Some of my buddies were at work when the bomb went off, they had the sense to call someone else involved in the viral to find out what was happening so, after making sure I had a ticket for myself I helped a brother out. I didn't abuse the system. I filled out the info accurately. You should know that you have to be fast if you want to reap the rewards from the viral.

I'm not a noob either you tool. My join date is late because I lurked for awhile.

I agree that's crap. I only grabbed one ticket just because I wanted everyone to have a fair chance. I mean, I'm still not sure why so many people who claimed to be following the virals so close for so long would miss out (unless their computers failed). Like Yoda is in the chatroom every day, and I'm wondering how he failed to get one. I wasn't even in the chatroom or the forums when it all went down because I was too busy trying to figure out the message... and I still got a ticket 10 minutes after the address was discovered (I suppose it also depends on the location, though).

I'm also wondering what defines a "newb." Is that like someone who never heard of the virals before a few days ago or someone who just wasn't a part of SHH until a few days ago? How do you know which is which? Either way they cared enough about the Dark Knight to sit through the count-down and get some tickets. And guess what? The virals are public! The wiki has all the information a new person would need to find out what's going on, and I'm supposing it's like that just so they can get in on the game AT ANY TIME.

So it's stupid for a loyal follower to be going on a tirade about how people they don't know have tickets, and because they don't know them they must be newbies who never followed the virals and therefore don't deserve to have tickets.

No, most of the people who were HERE were waiting for their pages to refresh while those in the speakeasy and on AIM were getting their tickets. I give byte the benefit of the doubt that he was right on top of things... but hindsight 20/20 the IRC chat was the way to go, especially if you are from Chicago, as they were one of the first showings to sell out.
