The Dark Knight Rises Hugo Strange

Is Prey in a paperback GN format?
Yes, but it's out of print and ridiculously expensive. I heard you can get it cheaper if you buy the individual issues, which are Legends of the Dark Knight #11-15. But I hear that even those are starting to become scarce now.

It's the 21st century guys, there are others ways...

Now now, the folks over in the Deacon Blackfire thread don't spend their time talking about how sucky Hugo Strange is, so let's return the same courtesy on here.

That's because Hugo Strange doesn't suck. :)

Another actor I could see as Strange is Kiefer Sutherland. He's a fine actor who could blend very well with the already established cast of Bale, Cain, Oldman, and Freeman. He's also got that cool kinda' gloomy voice, which would fit perfectly the mysterious Hugo Strange.

Hugo Weaving for Hugo Strange? I think he is a great and versatile actor.

Jeff bridges as Hugo strange.

I didn't get the idea after I saw iron man either, I got the idea after i saw the new true grit trailers.

Iron Man: the movie so cool that The Dude plays the stiff-shirt bad guy.

Any role? Well, after doing a bit of research, I suppose he might be able to pull off Selina Kyle after all.

Sure doesn't sound like you trust in Nolan to me, even though you tell everyone to (so long as he picks "I miss my daddy!" Talia. :whatever:) You remind me of those people who were all, "I WON'T SEE THIS MOVIE BECAUSE CRISPIN GLOVER ISN'T JOKER!!!" but they sang a different tune when the trailer came out. :funny:

I trust Nolan...I trust that he won´t include Catwoman.:woot:
And I´m sure he really won´t.
He will include the key surviving characters we have all along ,from the 2 previous movies + some new ones(never seen before! )
It excludes Catwoman.

Man,if Catwoman is in and Talia is not,I swear...I will get out of this forum.
This is my challenge since now.
I promise to leave if I´m not right.
But if I´m right...you all will have to handle me for a long time! :hehe:
OK?

I don't know. I've always liked the idea of Talia being introduced in that "full-circle" sense, but if we're truly having a female villain then I really don't think it should be her. She was never designed as a villain in the comics or to work as a standalone character, and the absence of her father and the proposed plot of her returning with the Leage of Shadows for revenge make her seem like Ra's 2.0 to me. Even the 'revenge' plot is similar to Ra's returning to Gotham and burning down Wayne Manor in retribution for when Bruce destroyed their base and killed the decoy Ra's.

It's the same principle why I wouldn't want Harley Quinn without the Joker. Without him, she's just a female Joker. Of course, I'd like an original character than one that's been done before, but if there's no other option availible, I'd certainly prefer a character already done a long time ago in the older films to a clone of a character that's already been done in Nolan's franchise a few years back :o That's how I see it, anyway.

I mean, I guess you could make the same argument for Hugo Strange, who's pretty much a shoe in at this point. Hugo is very similar to Dr. Crane in some depictions, but I think he has enough unique source material for the Nolan brothers to really make a definitive villain out of him (the dressing up as Batman plot comes to mind), unlike Talia who I could only see as a love interest for a storyline that was done and dusted in the first movie.

Whilst I have no love for the character myself and Nolan has free reign with the script, I think even he understands that Catwoman is a necessary evil for this movie. One of the only female villains that can work in his universe, and also one of the only characters from the comics that can actually follow up the Joker in terms of theatricality and generating interest from the general public. I'd bet money it's Catwoman. As long as it's Nolan dealing with her character then so be it, I'll trust she'll be a solid addition to the cast. If Talia is really in (as her name keeps getting brought up in the rumor mill) then I only suspect they're merging her with Selina Kyle (like they did Ducard and Ra's); I can't see them both in the same movie and I certainly can't see Talia carrying it on her own.

Gotta agree, Talia coming to Gotham and taking over the League to extract revenge just feels so "oh we're out of good storylines so we'll just go back to this one."

But no way is Catwoman ever been a "necessary evil"

I never thought I'd see the day when ordinary Batman fans would be ragging on Catwoman, but here we are.

The TDKR Info Thread is littered with Ra's al Ghul talk, and I'm sure we've all had enough Deacon Blackfire discussion to last a lifetime :awesome:.

So let's keep this thread going.

Harry over at AICN said he was shown "proof" that Hugo Strange will be the villain in TDKR, which is why he even posted the rumor in the first place.

I was looking up stuff on Strange since that rumor hit earlier... I wonder if we'd see his "Monster Men"?

Question, I realize with TDKR coming out and everybody under the impressions Hardy's got it in as Strange, but Prey is getting sold out nearly everywhere; it's a fantastic story, but I'm curious: is this popular and hard to find story, or did this all happen just all of the sudden?

God this feels like the good ol TDK days; I lucked out and exchanged an old issue DD for an original mint condition copy of TKJ. :hrt:

I'd love to see a few concepts from Strange Apparitions; that's my favorite Hugo Strange story IMO. :word:

Yeah I've been wanting to get my hands on Prey as well, but I checked it out on Amazon and the price was ridiculous. Something tells me though that if we get confirmation that Prey will be the source material for TDKR, then We'll get a new edition possibly in hard back format. I would just buy the single issues, but I don't like doing that anymore, it makes more since to buy TPBs for me. At this point guys, I'd be very surprised if Strange wasn't in this movie.
