The Dark Knight Rises Alon Aboutboul as...........

Yeah, after seeing that clip, I think he could definitely pull off a great, creepy Hugo Strange. I won't get my hopes up though. I'm sure he'll just end up being a minor original character.

I've been hoping for Hugo Strange since the rumors popped up last year. If they're going to include a "mad scientist," it'd be silly NOT to include Strange.

And it'd be kinda funny to see the same SHH posters who defiantly claimed that Strange and/or Talia would absolutely not be in TDKR (or hated the idea) to eat their own words. But that's just the spiteful side of me. :woot:

I honestly doubt he'll play anything major.

He'll probably be some random scientist that get's p3wned by Bane after a failed experiment or something like that.

Here's what puzzles me, and it's certainly not a slight on Mr. Aboutboul whatsoever, but Hugo Strange is a Gotham native. He was born in the slums, he was moved from foster home to foster home if I remember correctly.
Yet Hugo Strange is almost always voiced as a foreigner, often with a tacky Sigmund Freud Austrian accent.

This actor is good, I actually saw Body of Lies and was impressed with him. He can seem at once paternal and detestable, he's a talented man and will probably be a great Hugo Strange. I hope to see hints of his schizophrenic delusions about Batman.

Of course, the film is WAY too crowded to have Hugo dress up like Batman. But I hope we get the sense that Strange is completely ****ed in the head. He's one of the biggest freaks in Batman's rogues gallery and I'm glad to have at least one of the 'freak' villains in this film.

Assuming, of course, he is who I believe he is.

Does anyone else really NOT WANT Hugo Strange in this movie?!? Bane, Catwoman, and the League of Shadows is plenty enough.

Well The league of shadows isnt in the movie as far as we know.

When it turned out Riddler wasn't appearing, Strange was my first pick for the central antagonist. Bane is a very, very interesting character. More hero than villain, in my opinion. Doesn't it interest you to see how he's interact with a man as legitimately insane as Hugo Strange?

Bane is neither mad nor a freak. He's a cultured, sophisticated gentleman with the brutality of a hardened criminal. But Strange is one of those very freaks The Joker warned us about. The film should have at least one insane character, in my view.

If he is Strange and he is in the film, I'm thinking is role will be about the same size has Scarecrow's in BB.

bane is arguably insane.he hunts down batman because he haunted his dreams.his character developed since knightfall, but back then,he was a refined fruitloop.

I think he is just playing a scientist and that's it. Let's say he is tied into Bane, maybe Bane is Irseali or middle-eastern? (Since Isreal is like the US and a huge melting pot, I kinda separated them sue to the country's history)

Just hope the guy doesn't start out as a mad scientist for Wayne Enterprises.

I'd love him for Strange, but, seriously, please, somebody: Do we have anything to go on other than something his wife supposedly said?

I don't find that to be a terribly strong source.

I'm pretty sure that his wife's tweet is the only thing we have.

He'll be the scientist who tests Venom on Bane. That would seem way more logical than Hugo Strange at this point.

If he's a scientist, and we still don't know who the "villain from way way back", that Oldman was quoted saying, I think it's probably Strange.

But who knows?.....

I have to say, I really like that fan-made logo. I wish it was real.

I thought it was alright, I just think it would look horribly out of place for this series, though.

Good God. Poor Robin Williams... I'm intrigued by this man though. I just hope it's not a shameless "publicity stunt". But I don't think so..

I agree, if this guy does end up playing Hugo Strange (which I hope he doesnt) Robin Williams is gonna be soooooo pissed off! He publically shares his desires to be in a Batman film to the point that he has practically begged to have just a cameo. :csad:

"I believe...whatever doesnt kill you...simply makes you...Stranger.."
I know, I know...couldnt help myself.:cwink:

I'm not going to jump the gun, but if he does end up playing Hugo Strange, I am going to LOL hardcore.

Then I'll be sad that it wasn't Robin Williams :csad:.
