The Dark Knight Rises Hugo Strange

Are you guys familiar with the actual games and played the first? It's incredibly fun but "over the top" and "villain cliche" are about the most correct ways to describe it. The ending is so over the top that I didn't even like it, but the rest was boss cool:o

Clearly inspired by Nolan? I'm sorry but are you kidding? There's not a single Nolan inspired thing in these games and just about nothing Burton either, it's all 100% comics. It's like playing a Jim Lee/Frank Miller comic book. You really need to educate yourself with their All Star line if you seriously think this is inspired by Nolan. Batman is swinging from gargoyles every 5 seconds. Scarecrow in the game is a Freddy Kruger-like demon whose hallucinations transform Batman into a little boy and makes him see his dead parents before floating in a giant Salvador Dali-like world where Scarecrow is 100 feet tall. Jim Gordon is portrayed as a muscled out guy as massive as Batman, Bane weighs about 1000 pounds and 10 feet tall, and Killer Croc is a monster the same size. I've read a lot of comics and this game is about the most over the top portrayal Batman has ever gotten. Well besides the time he wore rainbow costumes in 1957.:o

:lmao:

The fight between the soldiers and Batman clearly took inspiration from Nolan, the way they shot him disappearing from sight of the soldier and then immediately beating him up from behind, Batman was clearly fighting the same Keysi choreography, the shaky camera movements, his cape also seems to glide memory cloth-like.

I haven´t played the game so I was commenting from the trailer footage.

A gliding cape and disappearing Batman has been a staple for a long time from the comics to TAS. I can't count the number of films that use shaky camera movement. But I give you the fight style looks a bit similar

Several have already commented on how villain cliche Hugo appears to be. There's three types of villains in the first game, the mustache twirlers, the muscle bound freaks, and The Joker. It's as over the top as Batman can get while still staying dark and brooding. I don't expect this one to be much different.

A lot of movies use shaky camera movements, but specifically for Batman fights, is a staple of Nolan.

.....honestly, Golden Age Hugo convinced me that he was a badass character....hell, i think hugo strange was cooler pre crisis.

All that aside, if any semi obscure villain deserves to be in a nolan film, its Hugo Strange. Not Black Mask or Deacon whatshisface

It doesn´t, but jives with recent rumors that Strange will be Hardy´s role, and that the storyline is based on Prey, which features HS.

These may be only rumors...
No one can guarantee that Strange will be in the movie or it will be based on Prey. :)
I don´t believe in rumors but in facts.
And there´s no fact who points that Hugo will be there...at least yet.

Yet you believe that rumors confirm that Catwoman won't be in this film.

The door swings both ways, my friend.

^
About Catwoman, you will see it´s not just a rumor.. :D
Catwoman is a very stupid and vulgar character(Yeah, vulgar. People want her there for fetish) to be in a movie by Nolan.
Nolan would never put a character with so much sex appeal.
He is smarter than that. :D

You know who else is a vulgar and fettish-based character? Crazy Quilt. And I can guarantee that Nolan won't shy away from using him. Just wait and see. Nolan's gonna show you how sex appeal is really done. Skin tight vinyl and a whip? Pffft. It's all about the memorable and symbolic patches, freshly sewn on a warm and comfortable quilt. Ooohhhh yeeeeaaahhhh. :o

I hate to say, but she might have a point when it comes to Nolan.

Nolan's movies are about as sexual as a house plant. Catwoman would be relatively untreaded ground.

Rhetorical question of the day: How many Catwoman comics have you read?

I didn´t read any comic in my life...
But even if I read,my opinion would not change.
I don´t like the character and never will.
I´m not obligated to like her.
That´s all.

Thanks for clarifying. We need not further discussion as this is plain admittance that your criticisms are completely and utterly invalid, having little to knowledge on the character.

On a related note, Brazil is a wasteland full of vapid ****es.

That's exactly the problem and your loss... the Catwoman character is actually much like Catherine Zeta Jones' character in Entrapment rather than the fetish evil BS that Burton made. She's possibly THE most interesting and explorable female character in comics, way more than Talia Al Ghul, who is a mere bait of Ra's and serves little purpose without her father or any other villanious mastermind alliance (ala Lex Luthor or such).

If I were you I'd edit that last sentence, before other brazilians in the know like ultimatefan or SuperDaniel read that...

Your opinion worths nothing for me!
You can think what you want.
Am I a ****e just because I hate Catwoman?
hahahahahaha

If I did not read,it´s my problem, not yours.
And I don´t like to read comics, what can I do?
Neither from my fave hero,Superman,I never read one comic about him.

I don´t like Catwoman...it´s MY opinion and neither Nolan would change that.
As I said once,I´m not obligated to like her.
Period.
And any new female character but Catwoman,is more interesting and welcome for me me than her,who I already saw before.

 You obviously didn't get their point.

How can you dislike a character that you know nothing about? You admit you don't read comic books but you hate Catwoman. That makes no sense considering Catwoman has never been portrayed in any other medium the way she is in the comics. Even Catwoman in the animated series, which got closer than most to the source material, is nothing like Catwoman in the comics. You saying that you don't Catwoman despite never reading the comics isn't an opinion, it's a sign of ignorance.

There's nothing to edit. It's intentionally ludicruous, to highlight the absurd position of critiquing and making blanket statements based on little to no information at all. It's stupid, worthless, and a waste of space. It should be ignored as obviously said person doesn't like to use reason.
