I feel like I've seen this sort of thing befo- oh yeah.

The same with you about Talia.
For you(you all),she wouldn´t work in the movie, she is boring and bla bla bla and only Catwoman will work, etc.
Narrow minded,too.
We are in the same boat!

The difference is most the people here objecting to Talia have read the comic books she is featured in.

In the trailer Strange looked like a much older man and also seemed to have an old demeanor. Maybe I need to look again but I thought his beard was greyish too. He completely came off like Christopher Lee. But he looks much younger in that picture. That pic is pretty much exactly what Hardy would look like as Strange.

Anyway I agree with whoever said it would be cheeseball if Strange dressed like Batman. I just don't think that would fly(no pun intended). If you thought that trailer was mustache twirling villain cliche just imagine a guy with an amish beard dressed just like Batman.

Are you guys familiar with the actual games and played the first? It's incredibly fun but "over the top" and "villain cliche" are about the most correct ways to describe it. The ending is so over the top that I didn't even like it, but the rest was boss cool:o

I don't love all of AA, but I've played, finished and loved it. I have no doubt that AC can be just as fantastic as the 1st one. But if this is going to be Strange's approach, performance-wise... then I maintain my opinion of crap, crap, megacrap about him.

Edit: After I posted this, I noticed that souvlaki has this picture as his avatar. Funny stuff. :funny:
Oh geez, I just noticed. And since I tend to read peoples posts as if they're their avatars...I don't think I can take him seriously ever again.

EDIT: Or you! OR ALP! Or anybody!

Talia never will be boring to me!
Much less in Nolan´s hands,dear...he is a genius.
He never will do her boring.
Catwoman, for me, willl be boring even in his hands because she was used before and because I don´t go with her face no way! :woot:
By the things I read about Talia(yes,I read some things about her story with Batman, which for me,is fascinating), I think she is so far more interesting than Catwoman to be explored in the movie.
Specially because she is NEW!
Can´t wait to see her in the movie.:cwink:

I'm sure this has been brought up a hundred times before (probably even in this thread), but Batman, The Joker and Two-Face were all used before, yet Nolan still managed to not make them boring.

No matter...it´s the same thing.
We are on the same boat.
No, it's not remotely the same thing. You can't state a preference for a fictional character who are you aren't familiar with. That's just being disingenuous.

^
Strange is becoming very obvious now....has lost all grace. :(

You know, Black Mask is also in Arkham City. He's also quite 'obvious'. So is Talia, if you make the Begins connection.

Whether or not a character is 'obvious' is an utterly stupid frame of judgment.

No, I´m familiar with Talia, because I read many things about her.
But you´re right,it´s not the same thing...because I want to see any other female character who is new and is not Catwoman and you only want and only see Catwoman.
You only see Catwoman...you don´t see any one but her.
This is narrow minded.

I don´t remember if I say this about The Riddler,but...
I think I said it´s better to use new villains and The Riddler was used before.
But anyway...Catwoman is the only villain who REALLY would be boring for me.

Imagine how it is reading your posts! :funny:

Except I haven't said that. I'd be open to the possibilities of other female leads, but I don't think any of them can hold a candle to what Selina provides to the mythos. I can say this because I've read a myriad of stories from practically all the major females in the Batman comics.

How many are you familiar with?

Can you prove that I said that?
I swear I don´t remember.

He's on the list of 'more of the same villains we've already seen, boring!!!' that you keep complaining about.

Do you really expect me to dig through your post history? It's pretty obvious.

In fact,I wouldn´t mind to see The Riddler again.
Or Penguin for example.
Who I don´t want to see again (no way) is Catwoman.
She and only her.

So one has to read a certain amount of comics in order to have an opinion about which character they find more interesting? :whatever:

I actually agree that Catwoman is a boring character. There's only so many ways you can spin a woman that dresses up like a cat. She's just not very interesting to me.

A lot of movies use shaky camera movements, but specifically for Batman fights, is a staple of Nolan.
Such a staple that he did not even use them in TDK.

Nolan can turn cliche elements into something unique. He did this in both Memento and Inception.

What's with the eye-roll? You're going to contend that you don't need to read up on a character, to make a well-informed opinion? Is this a result of an upbringing rooted in bigotry? Honestly. I'm not following your train of logic.

Obviously the person you were adressing is loosely aware of both characters. She would rather see a new character than one that's been used before. According to you that's not good enough and she needs to read more stories to have an opinion. That's what the eye roll was for.

When someone has made it a mission to belittle the character, at the very least I'm going to expect it stems from a well informed point of view. I really don't care what one's preference is. I do care that you back up your argument.

Standing on the frontline of ignorance is not something I very much admire.
