The Dark Knight Rises Hugo Strange

In fact,I wouldn´t mind to see The Riddler again.
Or Penguin for example.

Really?

I´m TIRED of seeing always the same villains, like Joker,Catwoman,Riddler,Penguin and Two Faces.
It´s always good to renew,to innovate.
I don´t understand why the people want to see always the same villains over and over again.
This is so boring! :csad:

Nolan can put other vilains and they would work very well, not just The Riddler and/or Catwoman would fit.
There are other interesting characters to choose.

Nolan already chose an obvious character:Joker(and one not so obvious:Two- Faces)
And do you want more obvious characters?
If the idea is to choose the obvious so put The Riddler,Catwoman and Penguin in the same movie at once.
Good,let´s underestimate Nolan´s intelligence .

Joker,Two Faces,Catwoman,Penguin,The Riddler...always the same.
Please...the Batman´s universe is not confined to these villains.

Here's the best one though:

I won´t talk anything against Catwoman in this forum again.
I will keep my opinions abt her to myself and wait for what Nolan decided to do.
:yay:

When someone has made it a mission to belittle the character, at the very least I'm going to expect it stems from a well informed point of view. I really don't care what one's preference is. I do care that you back up your argument.

Standing on the frontline of ignorance is not something I very much admire.

 Well spoken, sir.

I suppose this may have been posted before, but according to a EW blog, the whole rumor about the villain being HS and the storyline being based on Prey may have been in fact not cuz it´s related to the game, but that the rumors confused one with the other, cuz in fact the game is inspired by Prey.

This would be gloriously hilarious! This would bring tears of laughter to me!

I hope the rumor about Hugo Strange doesn't turn out to be true, IMO he's a really mediocre villian, who's no match for Batman. The AC trailer just seals my opinion, Strange seemed so out of place. His voice, his looks, just like a character from the 40's(which I know he is).Him and Calendar man jut seem like the usual Lecter wannabe.

Really?

No matter what I said before...I don´t want to see Catwoman again.
Period.
To be sincere,I woudn´t mind to see one known villain and other less known in the movie, but since that this known villain IS NOT CATWOMAN,for me it´s perfect!
And let´s stop with this discussion.

I don't really get the ferocity with which baleheadbrasil stands against Catwoman and for Talia. On one hand, I could understand having a deep knowledge of both characters in their comics incarnations and as such having a strongly-rooted preference for Talia based on her portrayal over Catwoman. And on the other hand, I could understand someone having never read any comics, but still having a slight preference for Talia over Catwoman based solely on the general feel they've got from what they've heard for each character.

But what I don't get is the combination of the two. The lack of any real knowledge or affinity for either character combined with a strong, emotional preference for one over the other. It's like if I had never in my entire life eaten sushi or salmon, and didn't have the slightest idea how either tasted, yet continually posted on fish enthusiast forums (do these exist!?) talking about how sushi was the most vile, disgusting stuff in the world, and I would boycott any restaurant that dared serve the filth, while proclaiming that salmon is the food of the gods, the most delicious, desirable treat imaginable that I will base my whole life around a desire to one day taste.

Do I have to repeat the same sentence over and over again for you to understand?
I prefer Talia because I don´t like Catwoman.
I don´t go with her.
I prefer any other female character who is not Catwoman.
Talia is a character who never was explored in a movie and I like her story with Batman and I find interesting their relationship.
I want to see Talia because she is NEW,because she also was important in Bruce Wayne/Batman´s life and because she is the mother of his son.
And because her father was in Begins.
These are my reasons to prefer her over Catwoman.
I don´t want to see Catwoman because I already saw her once and don´t want to see again!
Is this so difficult to understand?
I don´t have to like Catwoman only because the most love her.
Her popularity does not mean very much for me, because popularity is not always synonymous of quality.
I don´t care if she is iconic, popular or what else.
I´m not obligated to like her.
And let´s stop talking abt her because this is Hugo Strange thread.

This post made me :lmao:

Talia never will be boring to me!

You've never read the comics so you can't in fact know that.

Much less in Nolan´s hands,dear...he is a genius.

I agree that Nolan is a damn great director but that doesn't mean anything when it comes to the fact that Talia will just be another cliche overdone revenge story.

He never will do her boring.

You don't know that for sure, and look at my post just above this one.

Catwoman, for me, willl be boring even in his hands because she was used before and because I don´t go with her face no way! :woot:

"don't go with her face"??? I know English isn't your first language but I'm not sure what that means exactly. Just because she's been used before has nothing to do with her possibly being boring, Nolan wouldn't use her the same as Burton did.

By the things I read about Talia(yes,I read some things about her story with Batman, which for me,is fascinating), I think she is so far more interesting than Catwoman to be explored in the movie.
Specially because she is NEW!
Can´t wait to see her in the movie.:cwink:

I wouldn't call it fascinating considering they really just have a son together and she's Ras's daughter.

Strange came way before Lector, so if anything you could say Lector is the wannabe.

I fail to see how Hugo Strange is like Hannibal Lecter, other than the fact that they are both doctors.

Hannibal Lecter isn't the only disturbed doctor to ever grace the silver screen.

I don't think Strange is too terribly like Lecter. I figure Ledger's Joker to be a bit closer to that.

Hugo Strange as we see him in the Arkham City trailer is alluring to me. I hadn't been terribly interested in the idea of him for a film before that. He's got a large, dark, ominous personality and he's very commanding and actually pretty scary in a way we haven't seen before in a Batman film. I like it.

Naturally I'd expect Nolan to iron out some of the camp.

It may not be interesting for you,but for me, yes.
Every one has your own opinion.

I would've found that trailer's dialogue a lot more compelling if it hadn't been for Hugo's ridiculous voice. He sounds like Nostalgia Critic's rendition of Vincent Price.

While I think the main villain will be a much more nuanced and subdued character in relation to the Joker (TBH, is that really a choice) I still wouldn't read too much into the videogame for clues. I mean, in just the span of the first one they used almost half of the rogues gallery anyway, it's not like they have that many good villains to use.

I still think Strange could be a very intriguing villain, but I'm just confused on how they could use him in a vastly different way from Prey while still making it original. I mean, Prey is pretty much his best story by my estimation, but it also uses plenty of elements that are tailored made for how TDK ended, which I presume, is why everyone is assuming his appearance.

His whole thing is discovering Batman's identity and using that for his own ill-begotten ways, but would that really be all that startling to anyone even slightly familiar with Prey or who just happens to play the game? Going into it, we all know that to be one of his resounding traits, and while we make up a very small minority, it still seems uninspired to have a good portion of the story already laid out. The only thing I'm hopeful for is one of Nolan's drastic revisions, either visually or character-wise.
