The Dark Knight Rises Hugo Strange

Robin Williams should be Hugo Strange if that's the character in the next movie. He is enough of a leading man to bring the less-than-popular villain to the screen with dimension and presence. He has the talent to ensure he will not flounder in the reign of Heath's last leading performance. Imagine: Michael Cain, Morgan Freeman, and Robin Williams as our eldest actors in the cast! If you think he isn't serious enough for the role, just take a look at What Dreams May Come and Good Will Hunting. Please Nolans! If you're using Hugo, have the same thought as me. Its too good of a dream not to come true!

Like I said before, I'd be perfectly content with Tom Hardy as Hugo Strange. But I would kill to see Robin Williams in the role. And Viggo Mortensen is looking more and more like a great choice as well.

Yes, but I believe Nolan picked those villians because they were interesting. If I see Catwoman in a Nolan Bat-film I will be very shocked. She's just too silly and un-interesting in my opinion to fit into this darkly, rich world he has created. As far as the torrid love story, I'm not interested in seeing that again.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion... but I've never seen Catwoman as being too silly. I mean... if a man in a bat suit isn't silly... then why is a woman in a cat suit - silly? Catwoman isn't any sillier than Penquin, Riddler, Harley or (almost ) all the characters. JMO though.

If written right... I think a woman dressed in a catsuit stealing from the rich and giving to the poor or something similiar... is actually interesting. I would just have Selina dressed in a black catsuit... and it's the media who nicknames her "Catwoman" because of her black "catsuit".... then only after the media gives her this name... does Selina actually add cat "ears" to her cat suit. :yay: Selina could even make some pun like "if a man can be a bat... I can be a cat."

Still holding out for Hugo Strange and Catwoman. Wouldn't mind Bane, Black Mask or Deadshot... but Hugo Strange and Catwoman would be very marketable. JMO.

No, it's not an opinion. It's an inarguable fact that Catwoman is one of the, if not, THE most grounded character in the mythos. She wears a thief's outfit, and a mask with cat ears. Two little protruding shapes coming out of her head. That is the extent of her extravagant nature, aside from the name.

I have no problem with people not liking the character, but using the "silly" argument is one of the most hypocritical statements I've ever read from any sort of batfan. It's obnoxious really, considering how overtly ridiculous many of the elements are in the bat-universe.

According to the BOF Tom Hardy is not playing Hugo Strange!!
I hope it´s true.
I see him as Black Mask,or Hush,or Deadshot, but not as Strange!
He is too young for the role.

YES!

Looks like my hunch was right....about Hardy not playing Strange and I'm glad. Dr Hugo Strange just never seemed to quite fit him IMO.

Crossing fingers for him to play Black Mask/Roman Sionis or Deadshot/Sgt Floyd Lawton /Sgt Harvey Bullock.

IF Strange is in it.....then I hope Nolan and Emma look at Viggo Mortensen or Robin Williams to play him.

No bald pictures of Viggo to my knowledge, but here's one of him with a stellar beard:

Isn't Viggo playing Freud soon? Maybe an image of that would look like a bit like Hugo Strange.

He doesn't strike me as the kind of actor that would want to play such similar characters back-to-back. I can't see him in the role now that I think about it. I am really pumped about that Cronenberg film though.

It would be the highest grossing movie of all time, and win every single Academy Award, including Best Animated Film, Best Foreign Film, and Daniel Day-Lewis in both Actress categories.

Another name that I'm surprised I hadn't thought before is Michael Sheen. He's also got the goods for the role.
