Is that a Wednesday??? In any event no competition at all on that date. Wall-E the next week which isn't really direct competition, and then it goes into July 4th weekend where it should be holding on fine even with more competition it's a strong weekend for multiple films.

See main page.

why? just leave it to that date,

If the movie is good enough the 11th would give them a few more days. No biggie.

maybe, but with good marketing, they can open big ... but, then again, this is Universal :(

I don't see wjy they were still aloud to distribute and market this film:huh:

my guess would be cause Universal didnt want to let go of the franchise, it did make them money. So they might have compromised, let Marvel do the film but they'll distribute it, so they could still make money off it.

"which is that element of wish fulfillment, of overcoming an injustice or a bully and tapping into a strength that you didn't quite realize you had in yourself."

Made grin from ear to ****ing ear!

Sorry dude, but once Wall-E comes out, the Incredible Hulk will drop to the #2 position. Good move on Marvel's part though to get it so it wouldn't open up at that spot and give it a week for it to dominate and hope for a long box office run.

CARS did not have such an impressive opening at all though it did have legs down the longgggg stretch it had a very dissapointing opening. Wall-E looks even worse than Cars.

 That'll be my birthday! F**k, yeah! Nice birthday present!

Cars was a great movie and since when was a $60 million opening and holding the #1 spot for two weeks disappointing?

Pixar is a movie juggernaut. Hulk is not, at least in movie sense. It's simple logic.

You're joking right? NO way Cars was a good movie. Too classic, and too much "you have to believe in yourself". Though the art quality was magnificent.

^ I didn't realize Cars opened to 60 million. I remember the competition around that time and that all analysts had expected more from that film. Maybe it was after the 2nd week or something. In the end it turned out to have great legs but the movie was so damn cliche and boring and it ripped off so many other properties it was sick. Typical Pixar rip off like Incredibles but not as obvious.

What in Odin's name is Wall-E? Everyone seems all worried that it'll steal Hulk's thunder, but I've never even heard of it. :whatever:

From Wikipedia:

According to John Lasseter in a presentation to Disney corporate investors:

"WALL-E is the story about the last little robot on Earth. He is a robot that his programming was to help clean up. You see, it's set way in the future. Through consumerism, rampant, unchecked consumerism, the Earth was covered with trash. And to clean up, everyone had to leave Earth and set in place millions of these little robots that went around to clean up the trash and make Earth habitable again. Well, the cleanup program failed with the exception of this one little robot and he's left on Earth doing his duty all alone. But it's not a story about science fiction. It's a love story, because, you see, WALL-E falls in love with Eve, a robot from a probe that comes down to check on Earth, and she's left there to check on and see how things are going and he absolutely falls in love with her."

But don't feel bad. I had no idea what Wall-E was either. :o

Now if we could only know who was going to be in the movie, it would be all good....;)

yeah...announce the god damn cast already

I hope this doesn't interfer with John's ER schedule.
