Infinity War "I Will Bathe The Starways In Your Blood!" The Thanos / Josh Brolin Thread - Part 1

I take it this is when Thanos destroy's Gamora's world and 'adopts' her?

Definitely has to be. Doesn't make sense for much else.

And another I take is Thanos only seems to wanna wipe out half of humanity. Likely the defiant half until all that's left is weakling to serve beneath him.

Yeah, I just can't recall whether Gamora's homeworld is of any significance in the books, wondering whether it's playing into this in any way.

It's probably just a little couple-of-seconds shot as part of a flashback montage though.

Anyone get the feeling he says "I hope they'll remember you" to Iron Man right before he punches him?

Yeah it makes sense. Probably a flash back scene once Gamora meets up again with Thanos.

Brolin is going to be incredible as Thanos!

“I hope they remember you.” gave me chills!

And that shot of him and Cap!

The "I hope they remember you" line says to me that Thanos has some respect for whoever is on the receiving end. He sees them as honourable... but he must complete his quest no matter what.

It sort of comes off as almost mocking too, though, hard to say with no context. Could be totally genuine and he's speaking to Steve, or it could be some totally belittling line to Tony.

That’s what I got from it too.
Love that line:woot:

Like when he expressed regret for having to take out the Gardener in order to get his stone in the comics

i hope that's the case.
he's not evil for evil's sake.
i like a villian that has some nuance and complexity.

maybe he sees himself as the "good guy"
bringing order out of chaos - like all dictators do.

Shame we didn’t get a shot of the Thanos-copter in the new trailer but I guess they want to leave some surprises.

Haha, now there's the real money shot of IW.

He looks incredible they’ve done top not work on him. And Brolin sounds amazing. This is going to be quite a performance and an amazing villain.

Yeah they don't want to give that away. Same reason they didn't show Thanos being arrested by the cops. They have to keep some things a secret.

Who was the guy on here who claimed that Thanos would be smaller in the film because he felt Iron Man was on his knees when Thanos punched him?

Seeing him in the Cap scene pretty much confirms Iron Man wasn't on his knees for that punch, since Thanos absolutely towers over Cap.

I wonder if Thanos has a music cue, kind of like Jaws. The heavy distorted beats when he takes off his helmet at the start of the trailer, seems menacing.

I hope so. I loved that "Jaws" cue the Winter Soldier had.

I think what makes the character work is how calm Brolin seems to be playing him, even when he's kicking the **** out of people. That is lifted directly from the books and they managed that.

Definitely, very Thanos-like as in it's the way I've always pictured his demeanor.

Oh and what show or movie is the shot in your avy from if you don't mind me asking bro.

From Garfield and Friends back in the 80s.
