I am still thinking Avengers 4 is Secret War.
The "I hope they remember you" line says to me that Thanos has some respect for whoever is on the receiving end. He sees them as honourable... but he must complete his quest no matter what.
Very chilling line. He probably feels a sense/smidgen of remorse for what he's about to do, but he's committed to his goal.
Would "Secret War" really be a big spoiler, though, if the plot is based more on the Infinity Gauntlet story?
What happens with Doom in Secret Wars is relevant because it's another example of a villain becoming omnipotent, but the rest of the Secret Wars story is a very contrived "battleworld" plot that doesn't seem like it would be a big inspiration.
Also, in what sense would the war in A4 be "secret"? That doesn't seem to really fit.
"Infinity Gauntlet" may very well not be the actual title. Just not a great title, imho, very similar to Infinity War, and kind of redundant, since we will already see the gauntlet being assembled in A3.
But "Secret War" doesn't seem likely to me. They have probably come up with something else.
The problem is, if Thanos collects all the stones, and uses the gauntlet, and does indeed change reality, how would those surviving people (heroes, aliens, or otherwise) even know anything was different? From their perspective, their reality would be perfectly normal.Speaking broadly, it has always made sense for Infinity War be about the acquisition of the stones, and A4 (Infinity Gauntlet, or whatever the title ends up being), to be about the desperate attempt to somehow confront and defeat Thanos once he is nigh-omnipotent.
That second part is really the main focus of the original Infinity Gauntlet comic series.
So that is probably A4. I don't seem them coming this far and never having Thanos complete the gauntlet.

The comparison would be someone telling you that the life you lead and everything you are isn't real, and that you have another life that was erased from existence along with half the population of the known universe.

The title will be "The Thanos Imperative" imo. It will have nothing to do with Secret War.
Even if it ends up bearing more resemblance to Thanos Imperative or Infinity Gauntlet, I am still thinking they are adopting the Secret War name. Again, the MCU does not directly adapt any one story. They are going to be using elements of many cosmic stories, but I think Secret War is the name they will use.
Again to illustrate my point, see Age of Ultron
Possibly. I just don't see that whole Battleworld scenario playing out. Why would Thanos even care to create that? I just don't understand.
