Infinity War "I Will Bathe The Starways In Your Blood!" The Thanos / Josh Brolin Thread - Part 1

I can not wait to see Thanos unleash terror on Earth. I haven't seen the most recent trailers (or any marketing material from the movie itself) so I hope that he will wear his armor and helmet for a lot of the fight scenes. The rendering of Thanos is incredible and the armor+helmet combination will make him look even more menacing.

I'm also looking forward to seeing Titan in all it's glory. It's one hell of a place If Thanos is the odd one from there. I can not wait to see it. :D :D

In this movie, I wonder if Thanos will be more of a anti-hero than an actual villain, much like Killmonger.

Purple People Eater wasn't just a funny 70s song.

I expect Thanos to plow through this movie and achieve his goals with relative ease, the heroes just giving him minor setbacks.

I'm two weeks away from seeing my favorite comic book big bad of all time achieve live action cinematic immortality. If you told me that 15... hell, 10 years ago I would've thought you were nuts, but here we are. What a great time to be a fanboy.

I would call that kind of character a sympathetic villain rather than an anti-hero like Wolverine.

I hear you. It's super surreal to me. I may see this film 6 times or more in theatres.

Killmonger was 100% a villain. The villain can still be sympathetic.

That "cease to exist" scene in the recent spot. Good lord, Brolin pulled off a fantastic performance.

I like how the Russos talk about Thanos in their latest interview. How his skin is impenetrable and how he's a master in hand to hand combat. He is a genius and more powerful than the Hulk, I like that he can't be beat. The trailers aren't showing anything, but I think the movie is going to be brutal guys... We're in for some FEELS!

Remind me to watch this later, LOL

Brolin is going to kill it IMO. I am just loving everything I am seeing and hearing from Thanos so far.

'Cause "the man" is keeping the purple brothers down.

LOL. No, I was thinking they are pushing a Thanos story were the Titans went extinct because of over population and the subsequent self destruction of their own planet.

In many ways, that is what is happening on Earth. Over-population is a major issue now and will be even more going forward. The story will push this angle.

Thanos is right in wanting to save life but the means by which he wants to go about it are all wrong. Just as Killmonger was right but his actions were wrong, so is Thanos.

That still makes them villains, though.

Yeah, I would agree with this -a sympathetic villain. Not an anti-hero - poor wording on my part.

God it makes me laugh over in the BP section how many people seem to think Killmonger's justified, and not a totally awful human being.

:oldrazz: Sign of the times, I guess. Crazy.

Guy's basically...Farrakhan, if he'd been a Navy SEAL for 10 years, and inherited total control over the most advanced military on earth.

Basically...chocolate Super-Hitler.

It seems like a struggle to contain the enthusiasm that the villain isn’t a cardboard cutout and has complexity that people are going too far the other way and almost making him out to be an overall ok dude lol.
