The Dark Knight Rises Ideas For Incorporating Characters Into the Nolanverse

yes, robin wouldn't work in film 3 especially, because Batman is technically a fugitive. No way Bruce would bring a kid into that sort of situation.

Maybe now that Batman's a fugee he will be spending a lot of time at home. Perfect for raising children.

This is the nolan films we're talking about.

Bruce Wayne is to Batman as Harvey is to Two-Face. Batman is dominant over the Bruce Wayne personality to an extreme.

Black mask opens up the starting scene of the movie. He's talking to gordan. Gordan asks why do you wear a mask. He answers: In this town, the only way to get respect is to be crazy. The mafia and all of the normal members are not feared. See batman made it this way. The joker knew it and so do I. The mafia has to evolve to survive. In this town anything goes.

What if the only way to get the mask off is to saw it off (think man in the iron mask).

Batman should be topical and show signs that it exsits within the world today like including the ecomony crises that is around the world. Think about it, its a brilliant tool to tell how many of the characters ended up in the way they are, plus you could introduce more than one with different agenda's

For Example...

The Riddler - as Edward Nashton - his applied science department is shut down due to cut backs because the company he works for is facing administration. However Edward is an extremist and uses his brain to try and rob the banks of gotham to fuel his research.

The Black Mask - as Roman Sionis - a member of Wayne Enterprises board, with the current crises he was forced to make deals with dodgy people, This something Wayne finds out and fires him, however because of all the people he was associated with he forms his own brand of revenge.

The Pengiun - as Ozworld Cobblepot - again could of tied in with Roman as one of his contacts, Cobblepot could of been supplying weapons to the streets of gotham.

The Catwoman - Selene Kyle - A smart girl who has ended up in a dead end job that is barely making rent. So she dones a masked thief identity to try and find her way. she blames the current ecomonic crises for the way she is but subconciously she really just someone who wants to form her own identity.

Mr Freeze - as Victor Fries - he would be a tragic case. Not like the comic book verson, Freeze would be a scientist who was close to finding a cure when funding runs out. as a result he uses his Cryogenic technology to i dont know rob banks?

wow thats one heck of a way to make some villains out of one issue in todays world

I think Penguin and Riddler would be a great combo for the third film some reason.

They could contrast eachother: Oswald the smooth, pompous, elegant, but ruthless crime lord, and Nygma the deranged, quirky, rogue FBI agent

I'd like to see villains working together also

Maybe the Ventriloquist as a child killer/molester who draws kids in with his Scarface act.

i would like to see villains working togethger again, we had scarecrow and harv as pawns of the real villains now i want a team up!

yeh youre thinking of the hatter, and even then straight up pedo-killer is kind of a stretch. his facination with kids more ties into his alice and wonderland fetish, not vice versa

How bout The Penguin as a successful nightclub owner whose business is now doing bad because of the economic downfall. Since he is now losing money he needs a new way to earn it. So he starts letting the mob bosses conduct business in his club.

Black Mask: Roman Sionis is a business rival to Wayne Enterprises, specializing in everything Waybe Enterprises does, as well as advanced weaponry. As Black Mask he begins supplying Gotham's mobs with weaponry. His gang could be marked as freaks in that all the members have some sort of ritual scarring.

Anarky: Some random person who was a member of Joker's old gang that looked up to him and wants to carry on his vision.

why?

and no...robin...eeevvverrrrrr.

I was kidding. You know...some people wannt Robin..so give them Robin...a guy in a suit that sits there in one scene doing nothing and is never seen again.

okay that would give them false hope, no dont be mean, play nice

not a random person, he needs to have a reason to take up what the joker started, like have his father gunned down in the streets of gotham somewhere and him takingup the jokers task as a way to carve his niche in gotham and take out everybody who has wronged anybody maybe. he has to stay true to the core of the character from the comics

anarchy! extreme vigilante cross of joker and the bat
best of both

The idea of Robin wouldn't work in the Nolan films, but you do loose the idea of Bruce creating a sort of family around him.
In the comics he ends up with Gordon, Alfred, Batgirl, Oracle, Robin, Nightwing, and on ocassion Huntress, Question, Azreal, and even Catwoman.
That is sort of cool, but the way to introduce that would be bringing in Robin and that wouldn't work.

Reasons why Batman might even consider bringing in Robin are there maybe, I could see Batman thinking that some day he would need a replacement. An apprentice perhaps, and maybe even a partner to help him clean up the city and take some of the pressure off.
And I could see Robin being brought in to sort of help Bruce get back out of the Batcave. Sort of like being a Big Brother to Dick Grayson, maybe Alfred signed Bruce up.
But
Bruce would never allow another person into his war on crime. For one its too dangerous and he would feel too responcible, and then what if that person got hurt. Another reason is he would be too much of a control freak to allow another person work on mission.

But I still like the idea of a Bat-Family.

There's always a discussion of whether or not Nolan's version of Batman can fit into a world or would allow for a world that also includes the Justice League as we know it.

While I don't think this is really the case if the studios were decide against having Batman in a Justice League movie or to have a Justice League movie at all since they can't utilize the Batman character; would it be more feasible to go the route of having an Outsiders movie instead?

That is, Batman in his time as fugitive following the events of The Dark Knight and the supposed third Bat-film decides that he does need agents who can work on the more murky edges of vigilantism and brings together a group of non or very low powered heroes to do this for him; guys like the Question and Green Arrow and Katana and the like. Would this make more sense to do?

Ultimately mainstream audiences might initially feel like they're being gipped out of seeing DCs biggest guns together on the big screen but any good movie can win people over.

I think Nolan's Batman would be willing, and maybe even glad, to join or put together a team of heroes to help him with his War on Crime.
I think the Outsiders would work as a Dark Knight spinoff, they have the same feel as the Dark Knight and could fit nicely without altering his world too much.
But
I also think that if Superman, and the rest of the JLA, existed in Batman's world that he would automatically put the group together.
He would see the potential for good they could do, not just in Gothem or America, but all over the world.
And the sooner the team got together, and the sooner they went to work, perhaps the sooner he could retire from his life as Batman.
Maybe even knowing they all exist would be enough to get him thinking about retiring.

But the idea that the Outsiders would be brought in might be intersting, especially if it were a TV series.
And maybe they would even be a precursor to the JLA.

I would hope Riddler isn't a crazy lunatic killer like many people want him tt be and more of a detective... Id love to see him drunk at one point too

i have an idea, solomon grundy could be a homeless guy who is actually a amnesiac arkahm inmate with incredible strenght whp actaully lives in the narrows and sewers of gotham rather than a swamp
