t:This one appeals to a little bit older of an audience Christopher Nolan said at the screening if the film that he had to ask Heath Ledger to tone it down a bit otherwise I was going to get an R rating thats how menacing and violent he is.

why he tone it down? why?
Damn i thought he let him do whatever he wanted to do with the Joker.
eh , the kids are probably going to get scared either way , then everyone will complain about how it's " too dark " and then it'll be batman returns all over again , so what's the point ?This one appeals to a little bit older of an audience Christopher Nolan said at the screening if the film that he had to ask Heath Ledger to tone it down a bit otherwise I was going to get an R rating that’s how menacing and violent he is.

I would love to know what he was doing to have Nolan say that.
Soccer moms ruin all the fun

The only reason why soccer moms are upset by the dark tone of BB and TDK, is that they grew up with the Batman tvseries, where Batman was fun and had Shark repellent spray on him at all times.
^^^ I was reading rolling stone magazine the other day and they had a summer movie preview in it..........It had an oscar watch section for the summer movies and travers had heath ledger as best supporting actor for his oscar watch, nothing else, from what he said, "what I've heard and seen about heath's performance he has the best chance of getting an oscar nod from this summer's movies, and it looks fitting."
I think it's too soon to tell whether Heath Ledger will be nominated for an Oscar. I personally don't think it will happen, judging from the Academy's previous track record of ignoring big-budget blockbusters in the top six categories. But we won't really know until awards season hits and precursor nominations (National Board of Review, Golden Globes, etc.) are announced.
If Heath posthumously wins an oscar for TDK, it will open a LOT of doors not only for big budget summer blockbuster, but for Comic book movies as well. Plus he willfinally get that oscar for his acting skills that he so rihly deserved. (I COULD NOT believe he got F***ED on his nomination for "Brokeback"... he deserved that more than ANYONE ELSE nominated for it)
