Interstellar - Part 4

After the trailer in my theater some guy screamed "CHRIS NOLAN **** YEAH!". You guys are underestimating this trailer. It has feels. Spielbergian feels.

I was planning on watching Godzilla again to see the trailer but I hear many people didn't get it or they got the teaser instead.

I've seen the trailer three times now. Is it bad I walked into two Godzilla showings to watch the trailer? I left afterwards. I finished actually watching Godzilla and saw one was about to start in the auditorium next to mine so I sneaked in and caught the trailer. Then and I went back to the auditorium I saw Godzilla in, which was then seating, caught it again and then left.

Yeah, the trailer was supposed to be attached to Godzilla here, there even was this big announcement in the magazine they put out at the movie theater saying it was going to be attached to it, and nothing. Needless to say, I'm pissed.

In all honesty, you're probably not missing much.

What's that supposed to mean?

Anyway, trailer will be released today.

^ 2:30am my time, to be precise. *shakes fist to the sky*

when is this trailer coming out... cant freaking wait anymore..

It's not a trailer that's going to blow anyone away. Nolan's keeping it close to the chest.

I don't think that's the intent, what I'm expecting to see is a very character-driven movie with a huge heart, Nolan's most human movie to date.

seems more like a movie about a father & his kids than a space exploration film judging by the trailer

looked interesting, but it didn't "wow" me like the Inception trailer

I think this trailer is more about the story while trailer 3 will be more like random $$$ shots everywhere. TDKR is kind of like that too IIRC.

But you're comparing a Batman film to a film that nobody knows anything about, other than its called Interstellar.

They still got until November though, it's got time to market.

So? Same director and one half of the same studio. I didn't design their marketing plan. I'm just saying that based on the 2nd trailer, it looks like it will focus on the plot more rather than those money shots. And i'm expecting the third one to have more of those money shots that people want. Inception has more of those action sequences in the third trailer too.

At the end of the day it's going to sink or swim based on word of mouth, no matter how good or bad the marketing is.

They're probably banking on it being released during the awards season too. It'll be fine I think (as long as it's good of course :funny:). I don't think he's an automatic sell to the GA but Nolan (like Fincher, Tarantino, etc.) already has a cult following. Not sure by how much but I'm sure that'll help.

I don't think McConaughey is at the Di Caprio level of popularity but this one has more recognizable faces in general compared to Inception. Heck maybe there's even a chance that they'd show Damon in the third trailer. Unless of course he'll be a token surprise cameo.

And I'm just saying, it's easier for Batman to get away with that, because people know who he is. It's harder for other movies that do that, when people have no idea what it's even about.

And I'm not saying the movie is doomed or anything like that, just that this 2nd trailer doesn't really help it. Like Green Day said above, there is no "wow" factor yet.

(at least from what I've heard. I haven't even seen it yet)

its still 6 months to the release... and its blockbuster season starting now, so there is a lot of noise to push through.. i kinda understand that they are still teasing.

That's a valid point. There is a ton of garbage coming out this summer. I sat through 10 really bad trailers in front of Godzilla.

I do think an October release would be better than November. Gravity had a great run with an October release. Interstellar only has 2 weeks before Hunger Games comes out. That's tough for any movie to compete against. October would give it more time to find an audience and grow some legs.

i think they showed the first act in the trailer. we get to know what the movie is about and they tease the second act.

if the first act in the second trailer is not interesting then dont even bother with the movie. :)
