So....have they updated Imax tech to broaden the limitations on Imax reels? I don't wanna see a gimped version on the best screen.

175 mins? :wow: Better stop drinking the night before.

I haven't told the rumors about how long this movie is to friends yet. They already aren't enthused to go with me to see it. They were not impressed with any of the trailers. So I'm still waiting for an official runtime on the website.

I gotta get away from this hype. What made those aforementioned films so incredible was the fact they took off off guard because we just were hoping at the least that they would be good. I don't want to go in thinking this is gonna be the next ROTK or TDK. I just want to go in with the hope they deliver on what we've seen so far.

No coffee for me that day when I go to see this. Even though epic is so overused, this film is going to be.......EPIC!

I agree, I don't want to burden this movie with too much hype or unfair expectations and just ultimately hoping for a very good sci-fi movie.

But the more the buzz builds, the harder it's getting for me to fight the suspicion that the hype may be real.

Cameo? What cameo? I thought we knew everybody who was in? Lithgow is a known commodity on this thing so it couldn't be him? Damnit I want to know!

It definitely could be. Or it's just typical preliminary helpful early buzz.

Two months away, it's just not smart to already think this is going to be the next incredible film. It's fine to be excited and think it will be good (Nolan's track record indicates most likely it will be good at the least). It's just troubling people are already proclaiming this thing to be a cinematic achievement when it's still a good while away and people will of course jump onto that hype blindly based on what a few people's opinions on the internet said. I've just learned a lot over the years. It doesn't matter what the movie is, never set your expectations too high. This is no exception, early praise be damned.

It's going to be good, most likely very good. But just how good?

I think he's talking about Matt Damon which we know already LOL.

I guess that makes sense for the GA but I thought they had already included Damon's name in some marketing stuff... maybe I'm wrong.

I'm gonna see the trailer. So far none of the trailers grabbed me, and I didn't feel the need to rewatch them.

Yeah, I'm gonna watch the trailer too. Nothing has grabbed me and I just can't get hyped for this movie.

I'm actually glad the trailers have all been underwhelming. It has definitely helped with keeping my anticipation for the film in check.

The trailers are fine but nothing special but that doesn't mean that the film won't be special of course.

All three trailers have given me goosebumps, haha.

It's not so much what has been shown but the promise of what might be there. Even beyond a filmmaking perspective, just the mere fact that a Hollywood movie is going to venture us so far into the universe using actual principles and theories of astrophysics is just tremendously exciting to the space nerd in me. It's stuff that could conceivably happen in our lifetime, or not too far after.

This is a movie that will be embraced by the Neil DeGrasse Tison and Carl Sagan-types of the world, that much I'm sure of.

I talked with my assistant manger about Interstellar's running time, and he's confirmed that it's close to 3 hours long.

Someone else said that Regal will be selling tickets for this on October 1, but all the major theaters will be doing that (Carmike will do the same). And we'll have a 10 p.m. show November 6, which isn't too bad.

Well, every runtime that's been reported has been "close to 3 hours". We need a confirmed runtime from the studio. I don't understand why people are reporting runtimes from 163 minutes to 178 minutes.

I just saw the first TV spot with the AFL Grand Final! That's the Australian equivalent of the Superbowl for you Americans.

Lots of new footage. I didn't expect that.

I'm all jittery. 200% avoiding Trailer 4 and the Empire interview (and subsequent TV spots) now.

I'll wait for Fandango. The last time I remember something like this happening was Django.
